Who To Read

Hello loves!

I shared some of my favorite YouTubers earlier in the month and I thought why not showcase some of my favorite blogs to read as well.

Beky Lou - I've followed Beky for a long time and I love her posts. She has a fantastic mix of lifestyle, beauty & fashion and she just announced some exciting news over on her blog!

Violet Daffodils - Kate is a lovely human. Her posts are well thought out and she was the first person to start commenting on my posts which means a lot to me.

All Things Beautiful - I only recently started reading Jessies blog but she's so down to earth and I really enjoy her lifestyle posts and outfit posts. (She has a wicked sense of style)

Lua - Le-Happy - Lua was the first fashion blogger whose style I truly fell for. She can rock a grunge look like no other. On the opposite side of the spectrum her formal looks are outstanding. Her mixture of styles is what really intrigued me about her and I've been following her for a long time.

MAC - Speed Dial

Hey everyone!

MAC's Creemsheen lipstick in "Speed Dial" is a great spring/summer color.

It is a warm toned pink but I am cool toned and it looks great, it'll suit a large range of skin tones. It's blue toned and has got a gold micro shimmer that doesn't seem to transfer on the lips but gives the color that extra bit of dimension! It doesn't apply as opaque on the lips like most MAC lippies but is easily and quickly built up. Makes for a great everyday work lipstick as it is toned down enough to be  worn at work. For a creemsheen however on me it did emphasize my dry patches if I did not apply a lip balm underneath and it didn't seem to last long without having to reapply (not a common problem with most MAC lipsticks)

Overall I'm glad I picked this up, its a very feminine shade and looks great on many different people!

What is your favourite MAC lipstick?

Maybelline - Master Precise {my old HG}

Hey guys. I'm sure you're wondering why this is no longer my holy grail eyeliner well let me explain...

First off I have been using Maybelline's Master Precise eyeliner for at least five years but recently it is no where close to the product I used to love...in fact I don't think I'll be buying another tube. Maybelline I don't know what you did to the formula of this but w o w has it changed.

The packaging and tip haven't changed and the tip itself makes winged eyeliner an absolute treat even if you have an unsteady hand, HOWEVER it is the formula of the product itself that has become horrible (Sorry Maybelline, you're still one of my favourite drugstore brands!)
I don't know what they did but I cannot for the life of me get this to stay on my eyes I have tried setting it with powder and all the tricks and no, just no. As you can see from the swatch above its a very wet formula and it never seems to dry. One wrong move it will be smudged all over, the second your eyes water forget it say goodbye to all your eyeliner...

I am really disappointed to say this because I LOVED this eyeliner more than any other and the fact it doesn't even last an hour without giving me panda eyes I just I'm so sad. Maybelline, why did you change this? It was so good before!

Have you ever had a HG product that either the brand changed or discontinued it?

What's Victoria's secret?

Start the ultimate seduction with vanilla orchid, sun-drenched clementine and midnight blackberry, made to thrill in a bold red bottle.

Feeling sexy yet?

Hey guys!
Who else has endless amounts of body sprays / perfumes in there collection of wonders? I know I have more than enough to last me a lifetime.

Today I wanted to share my thoughts on one of my favourites; Victoria's Secret "Very Sexy" perfume, as you can see from the picture above I've just about used it up! The notes included are; vanilla orchid, clementine and blackberry. I love anything scented like Vanilla, it is one of my favourite scents and always will be. This is by no means a long lasting perfume but not quite as short lived as a body spray, its right in the middle which is fine with me the bottle is small enough I don't mind having to reapply throughout the day nor do I mind carrying it in my bag. The bottle is glass and since I have last purchased this they have come out with a new bottle design  a much nicer classier bottle then the one I currently own. This costs about $52 USD for the smaller bottle (one above) the smell is fantastic if you are a vanilla fan please go take a sniff next time you're out and about.

What's your favorite scent?

HOOLA

Hey beauts!

Lipgloss, I can't say I'm a big fan....I love bright and bold colours and most lip glosses give you a sheer tint if that.

I received this sample size Hoola gloss from Benefit when I purchased the Bronze of Champions kit, a normal tube retails for $16 USD which for a sheer tint and some shimmer....I could get that in a Covergirl gloss for half the price. I don't know if it's just the Ultra plush line from Benefit but I also have the Dandelion gloss and my gripe is the same as this one, sheer and shimmer that's what you get. The texture of these however is wonderful and they don't feel sticky when applying nor does everything that comes near your face stick to your lips *raise your hand if your hair is always getting stuck to your lip* haha every single damn time I try to wear gloss. Like I said above absolutely no colour payoff but does give your lips shimmer for a couple hours which is amazing compared to drugstore gloss comparisons not to mention this gloss smells amazing.

I wouldn't pay full price for this and I wouldn't buy any of the full size glosses in this line as I don't like either of the two I've tried, sorry Benefit. I love you but these were a disappointment.

Lipstick or lip gloss?

C E T A P H I L

This post is for all you dry skinned ladies, I know the struggle.

I have searched for something that would satisfy my skins never ending thirst for moisture for a long time and I've come pretty close with this Cetaphil moisturizer.

I use this at night after I shower because my face is always the most dry after I shower although it can be used in the morning! It's saved my skin! I like to research products before throwing away my money generally if it's mixed reviews I'll still buy because what may not work or another could do wonders for you. There was a lot of complaints about this burning people's skin....I don't get that with it's definitely not meant for people with oily skin! Just stay away if you do have oily or combo leaning more towards oily. It can be a tad greasy on the face if you use too much I use about a pump and a half to cover my whole face and because my skin is the sahara desert it takes no time at all for it to soak in, my face drinks it up and another bonus is it's got added sun protection, who doesn't need a some SPF in their life.

I haven't noticed any difference in the appearance of my skin but it has beyond helped my dryness more than anything else I've tried and it's a drugstore moisturizer so it's affordable.

Anyone with dry skin have anything they love? Leave your recommendations in a comment!

Topshop - Ceramic lip liner

Hello everyone! I'm here today with a review, TOPSHOP lip liner in "Ceramic"

It is a nude, I am not a huge nude lip girl I love bright, statement lips. Red will always own my heart in lipstick shades The color when swatched on my hand is a lot darker but that's only due to lighting it is very natural looking. I am wearing it as a solo color as I don't have any nudes that would match this.

The pigmentation is great but TOPSHOP lip products have been known to be compared to MAC who is known for their fantastic color range and pigmentation. It does last long even through drinking and eating.

Dried out my lips horribly...I feel like maybe if I had worn a balm or moisturizing lipstick underneath it would have been much better. Overall I'm still not sure if I love this pencil.

I like that it's great for subtle looks but I'm more prone to the exciting shades of lipsticks, it's the one thing people always are mentioning about me.

What are your favorite lipsticks?

OOTD

Tights - Target

Here it is a very school girl look, I actually wasn't aiming for that when I got dressed this morning it just kind of turned into that. I was wearing a white collared shirt underneath unfortunately the lighting in my room is not the greatest. For shoes I wore a simple pair of black flats with little bows on them and introducing one of my favorite Blackmilk pieces the white burned  velvet skirt. I did wear this to work as the skirt is long enough and throw on the blazer, there you have it a great work outfit. Blazers fix everything, I swear, they are a must have in your closet.
What do you guys think?

Rimmel - STAY AWAKE

Hello everyone! Another new post, I'm like a whole new person who posts regularly, haha.

I'm going to talk about concealers, I don't think I've ever done a post on any sort of cover up so this will be new for me and all of you. I wanted to talk about Rimmel London's Stay Awake concealer (p.s. they have a foundation too which is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C, highly recommend).

I have the lightest shade suitably name "very fair" for my poor pale skin.

This concealer has a nice creamy texture to it, I recently heard someone saying theirs had got watery after a while I have never had this problem and I've had this concealer for a few months now. The coverage is light - medium I'd say as you can see in the above photo, covered a few freckles at least! I would not recommend this a under eye concealer if you have very dark circles. I don't even have extreme dark circles but I find this is not enough to cover mine so if you're searching for that HG concealer this won't be a great option for you. Rimmel being a drug store brand is super affordable and this concealer is available at most drug stores/department stores. I picked mine up at Wal-Mart for around $9.99 CAD.

What do you guys think of this concealer? Let me know in the comments

E m p t i e s

Hey everyone! I've got some empties to share with you tonight, I am not one for having many empty products at the end of the month but I did have a few so I thought why not share? Well that is if you guys are interested in seeing what I use....haha.

I'll start with the one that's not in the photo which is Inecto coconut face wipes. They were just a cheap drugstore product I posted a review not too long ago on them. I LOVE wipes mostly because I'm far too lazy to have a face regimen.

On deck next is Maybelline Master precise felt tip liner, this stuff makes the most inept person be able to do the most glamorous winged eye.

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar body lotion, I have quite the B&B obsession right now actually just bought the most wonderful smelling candle there the other day. It's called Apple Flower, seriously go smell it.

Tresemme hair spray and Nivea's Happy Time body wash. I don't have much to say about the hairspray I posted a review last month. The body wash, I will not lie to you guys I mostly bought this because of the name BUT not only that it smells like oranges and makes your whole bathroom a scent sauna its fabulous really and cheap, so killed two birds with one stone there.

As you see I do not really go through a lot of products but just wanted to show you the ones I have used all up recently.

What have you guys used up lately, let me know in a comment!

REVLON - KNOCKOUT

Well I'm back with yet another nail review. I promise guys my blog won't be this terrible forever. I've been extremely busy moving into a new place.

The color as you may have read in the title is Revlon's "Knockout." Just a solid black polish, nothing special. It's not the best but it's not the worst. Revlon is in the cheaper range of polishes about $7.99 CAD a bottle so for a girl on a budget I would recommend these. They chip in about 2-3 days, more likely if you have a job with a lot of physical labor. As with almost any black polish you only need about one coat for complete color payoff.

I have no complaints about this polish. Definitely check out this polish if you're looking for simple and don't want to spend $12.99 for a black O.P.I. polish.

Love you guys, sorry I haven't been active for a while!

Covergirl Lip Perfection -- Verve

Hello everyone, it's a lippie review today. As you know I am a lipstick freak, every girl has their favorite product right? Well mine is lipstick. Today's review is on the shade 370 - Verve from the Covergirl Lip Perfection lipstick line.

As you can see from the above swatch it's a very frosty pink and I know there a lot of people who in the world with a hate on for that frost finish. I'm not going to say it's my favorite but with my pale skin I don't think it looks bad or tacky so I actually own quite a few frosty lipsticks. I own three other colors from this collection and they tend to turn into another color with longer wear but I've yet to experience that with this one and yes CG's lipsticks do STAIN the lips, just a forewarning. The staying power of these lipsticks is great and the pigmentation is also great so for $9.99 CAD you can't really go wrong. There are other colors in the line that do not have the frosty finish the only one I own without the frost is the Hot Passion which I adore, it is a bright red! Covergirl doesn't have the best lip products but I would give these a solid rating and recommend you check them out.

FIRST ootd and fotd

Alright everyone here it goes, I really struggle with my body so this is my first “shot” at doing and OOTD and FOTD, I unfortunately don’t have a tripod at this point in time so I really had a difficult time trying to get a good picture of what I was wearing unfortunately but here goes anyways. (Sorry for the awkward hand in my sleeve, kind of makes it seem as if I don’t have a hand there) I’m wearing a pair of black tights from Target, the dress is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE pieces I just so happen to have it in three other colors and it is from Aritzia, pink pleather jacket from Charlotte Russe and then I have two rings on but you can’t see one is just a gold ring with emeralds in it that I found on the ground and the other is a cross ring from Aldo Accessories the shoes you can’t see well but they are just a open toe black high heel.
FOTD — For my face I’m wearing E.L.F.s BB cream (SPF 15), a free foundation my mom got I’m not sure of the brand but it’s in a spray can type container which is definitely different, Sonia Kashuk translucent setting powder, Benefit’s Hoola bronzer which can’t really tell. On my eyes I used a pink champagne color from my Rimmel Royal Tea quad (looks more brown here) all over the lid. In the outer corners I used a matte black from a Lancome eyeshadow palette from my mom and then a glitter black as well from the same palette which I also used to line my upper lash line. I used a tiny bit of the matte brown from the Rimmel Royal Tea quad on the bottom of my eye and for mascara I used the CoverGirl Bombshell. On my lips is the gorgeous Impassioned lipstick by MAC.
Well I hope you guys like this post. Would love to get a tri pod to more outfits if you guys do. So let me know on twitter @brirue
Bye loves!
