E.l.f. - Flirty Fuschia

Hey guys.

I know I just did a recent e.l.f polish review but I'm back with a new shade!
I hope you guys don't mind these posts and I'm sorry to be repetitive but this shade is perfect for Spring and
Summer.

It's a gorgeous bright pink, much brighter than the aforementioned shade almost leaning more towards a coral toned shade (though you can't tell in the photo).
Again however the formula is not up to par. It went on smooth and opaque in two coats but once again chipped within a day and who wants to spend time painting their nails for it to just chip off before the next morning even comes?
Not me.

With it being a sample sized bottle I'll continue to use it this summer as the color is a stunning summer shade!

What's your favorite nail polish

TRENDING: Mini Bags

{none of the photos in this post are mine, credit to their respectful owners}

Mini bags, are the IT accessory for SS17.

I'm a woman who carries my life around with me so for me, the bigger the bag the better.
Don't get me wrong I think these tiny little bags are adorable but nowhere near practical.

If you're someone who only carries your phone and some cards with you then a mini bag may be the accessory to pick up this summer.

This mint one is so cute, the color alone is almost tempting enough for me to purchase.

A trend that unfortunately I won't be joining this season. I'm going to continue lugging around my suit case like purses so I can keep all my necessities handy.

What do you guys think of the mini bag trend?

LUSH - Sex Bomb

When I'm having a bad or stressful day I always turn to Lush.

You really can never go wrong with a nice long soak in some bubbles. I live in a tiny rural town with the nearest mall about an hour away so when we headed to the city I headed straight to Lush to stock up on some old favorites and some new products (for another blog post).

The Sex Bomb Bath Bomb was one of the first products from Lush I'd ever tried and one that has stuck with me as a firm favorite through the years. When dropped in the bath it creates a lovely blend of purple and pink making you feel like a princess as you bathe and releases the faux rose petals inside as it fizzes away leaving a fresh floral scent lingering in the air.

Infused with soy milk, ylang ylang & clary sage oil this leaves your skin silky smooth and moisturized.

What's your favorite Lush product?

Kat Von D - Metal Matte

Oh hello loves.

I apologize for the lack of posts lately, life is really getting in the way of things these days.
Today's post is featuring one of my favorite palettes, albeit being limited edition I still wanted to share my thoughts.
This was the 2016 Christmas palette from Kat Von D, the Metal Matte.

I've tried a few items from Kat Von D some being rather disappointing and others exceeding my expectations.

The packaging design is stunning on this just as it is with all her other products. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Kat creates the designs for all her products, What I love about this is that if read one way the palette says metal but flip it around and it says matte which I thought was an incredibly cool concept!

 The palette includes 22 eye shadows, 9 in Kat's popular Metal Crush formula and 13 mattes.
This is by far the largest palette I own but for the amount of product you get I think it's fairly priced.

The color scheme includes pops of colors & neutrals, it's a well rounded palette.

I'd never tried the Kat Von D Metal Crush shadows but after first use I was in love. They are soft, extremely pigmented and easy to blend. My favorite shimmers in the palette are Ignite, Twinkle & Glitz.
Some of the mattes swatched quite patchy but overall most of them were pigmented and blended well. They are incredibly powdery but this has never deterred me as all you need to do is tap off the excess from your brush before application. The mattes I found hardest to apply were Jet and Stone both darker colors. Stone, although a lovely color I found to be the most difficult shade to work with. When blending it becomes patchy and the color completely fades away in some spots.

{Top to bottom: Nebula, Watt, Ignite, Tinsel, Glitz, Twinkle}

{top to bottom: Tinsel, Glitz, Twinkle, Volt, Synergy & Flash}

{top to bottom: Linen, Jet, Velour, Stone, Moss, Ribbon & Silk}

{top to bottom: Fringe, Feather, Oak, Suede, Bone & Velvet}

I'm happy I got my hands on this while it was still available and I'm sorry for posting this after it was no longer available but I had to share my thoughts on it!

What's your go to palette at the moment?

E.L.F. - Electric Fuschia

Okay I've only had this on for one day BUT before you tell me one day is not long enough to form an opinion. It is when the polish is total crap.

E.l.f is a an affordable brand with a lot of wonderful products but affordable can sometimes come with some garbage products as well. This polish is categorized as garbage. It is kind of old though so maybe it's because I've had it sitting around so long but it applied streaky and uneven bunching up in areas on the nail. The color when first applied is this gorgeous bright fuschia! As it wears it dries down to a darker toned down fuschia. Don't get me wrong the color isn't bad but I really loved how it looked when I first applied it so to see it become so much darker was disappointing. Before the night was even over and doing minimal work with my hands the polish was already chipping off around the sides of my nail beds.

All in all I'm so incredibly disappointed with this and am happy it was only a mini bottle (which I ended up tossing in the trash). It was that bad.

Have you tried E.l.f.s polish range?

The Wanderlust Tag

Marble Canyon, Banff, AB

Where was your first plane to?

Unfortunately I don't have a very exciting answer to this as my first plane ride was when I was five and it was to Toronto, Canada. I live in Alberta and it's only about a four hour plane ride.

You're leaving tomorrow, money is no object, where are you going?

Santorini, Greece. I've seen so many stunning photos of Santorini splashed across different blogs & travel sites. Ever since I've been lusting to go there and can't wait for the day I can afford it.

Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?

There are definitely many untraveled places on my bucket list but there are a few places I've been to more than once. My favorite being California. I absolutely love California and would happily travel there time and time again!

Disneyland, Anaheim, California

Hostel or Hotel?

I've only stayed in one Hostel and it was in Edmonton, AB and that right there was enough for me to never want to stay in one again. Hotels please, I enjoy my privacy.

Where would you travel just to eat food?

I honestly have no idea. I love to eat but I'm quite picky in taste so it wouldn't be somewhere where the main dishes are mostly seafood. I'm sure there are many amazing places with amazing food. I wouldn't mind travelling to a myriad of countries just to have a taste of all the different cuisines they have to offer.

Air plane Essentials and how do you pass time?

I've never been on a flight for longer than five hours but I always have at least one book (if not more) my headphones/ipod & phone. I tend to pass the time on flights by napping if I'm honest.

Is there a place you would never go again?

Not that I can think of.

Top 3 travel items?

Camera, phone & a book because it's always nice to have something to read after exploring all day.

Preferred method of travel?

Cars. planes scare me actually. Not to the point where I won't get on a plane but I don't know how comfortable I'd be with a flight overseas not that it will stop be from going to Santorini!

Cameron Falls, Waterton, AB

MET GALA 2017

The most fashionable event of the year, The Met Gala.
Forget the Oscars this is what true fashion fans look forward to every year.
The theme of the gala this year was Rei Kawakubo/Commes des Garconnes exhibition, a famous fashion designer who is well known for her avant garde deisgns.

Let's take a look at some of my favorite outfits of the night....

Rihanna

She nailed the theme and had one of my absolute favorite outfits of the night. Not only was her outfit perfect her makeup was gorgeous and matched so well. Can we take a moment to admire these lace up boots though? (Where can I get a pair?)

Kendall Jenner

How could I not showcase the beautiful Kendall Jenner who showed quite a lot of skin in this revealing piece paired with simple eyes and a bold red lip. Black is always a classic.

Nicki Minaj

Queen Nicki looking fierce as ever. I absolutely adore the red and black. The mixture of edgy and girly is what I think really gives this outfit it's edge. Again Nicki like Kendall went with simple eye makeup and that statement red lip.

Cara Delevigne

I simply love Cara. She's not afraid of what people think of her and she seems comfortable and confident in her skin which is hard for many people. Cara's outfit reminds me of another world, an alien one if you will. I love that she chose a pant suit instead of a classic dress.

There are just a few of my favorite looks from the night although there were so many more incredible ones. There was no possible way for me to fit all of them into one post.

Who wore your favorite look?

TREND ALERT: Anklets

Trending

Bless 90's fashion.
How I miss those grungy days with the chokers and brown lips and the earlier 90's where brightly neon colored windbreakers were all the rage.

What's coming back this season?

Anklets.

I've never really been a fan of anklets but after creating this collage and seeing the gorgeous ones the market has these days I'm thinking about heading to the shops and picking some up for myself this summer.

I live in sandals once the weather warms up, by live I mean I'll wear sandals until the snow starts to fall again. Although I never thought of wearing them before I do think an anklet could add some jazz to an otherwise plain outfit.

I am loving the gorgeous draped silver anklet pictured above by Rebecca Minkoff, there's also one in gold but I much prefer the look of silver accessories. How cute would this be for a day out at the beach?

What do you guys think, yay or nay?
