Fragrance Collection

Good morning loves!

 Here's a little look into my bathroom cupboard, the fragrance edition.

Victoria's Secret Lovespell is by far my favorite body spray. You can see I prefer sprays over perfume, just kidding. Perfume is expensive and there are a million other things I'd rather buy for the same amount of money.
Avon Raspberry Body Spray, I don't know why I'm even keeping this around it smells like medicine.
Insignia, received as a gift way back when.
Bath & Body Works Coconut spray. I love anything coconut.
Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar perfume and body spray. Surprisingly I find the body spray to smell better?
Bath & Body Works, Japanese Cherry Blossom. One of my favorite scents from them.
Bath & Body Works, Twilight Woods spray. Another great scent. I might have a slight Bath & Body Works addiction.
Another I think Victoria's Secret perfume, or maybe LaSenza. Super light and fresh scent.
An Elizabeth Arden perfume that my mom gave me.
Lancomes Miracle and a sample of another Lancome perfume.
Kat Von D's Saint and Sinner samples. I love both of these and I received them from Influenster.

A small collection to some but definitely more than enough for me.

What's your favorite scent?

*Saint or Sinner?

Hello everyone!

The other week I was lucky enough to come home to a fabulous package from Kat Von D Beauty & Influenster.

Her Saint & Sinner Fragrances that after being off the market for 8 years have been re released  in completely redesigned bottles that Kat herself spent months hand sketching! The bottles are stunning and would look perfect on any vanity. The bottles I received however aren't full size so I have no photo of the actual bottle design but you can head here to see it.

As much as I wanted to be a sinner, I have to say I lean more towards the notes included in Saint.

A light, dreamy floral musk. I love floral scents but I know many people can't stand them so buyer beware. Saint includes top notes of Jasmine & Tiare Flower while the base notes including vanilla, musk & sandalwood create the romantic and alluring feel. I wore this to work and the scent was still faintly lingering on my skin after eight hours, impressive! The regular bottle retails for $88 CAD which is average when compared to other brands on the same scale.

The dark sister to Saint. A sultry fragrance, the perfect line between spicy & sweet. Top notes include; patchouli, wood & cinnamon. Perfect for someone who wants that warm but spicy fragrance instead of the often overpowering candy floral scent. I was a fan of this but like I said previously I prefer the lighter floral scents. Next time I wear this it's going to be a night out as it really does make you feel bold and edgy.

{I received deluxe samples of each scent for review purposes, ALL thoughts and opinion are my own}

What's your signature fragrance?

It's a Miracle

Lancome's Miracle perfume bursts with top notes of Lychee, Freesia & pink peppercorn when first sprayed leaving a lovely floral scent lingering on your skin. As it wears throughout the day you can catch whiffs of the more spicy base notes such as ginger, pepper, amber, musk and patchouli creating a more sensual scent.
Miracle is a very feminine scent that doesn't overpower making it the perfect perfume for your days at the office.
I wouldn't call it long lasting..it lasts but is very subtle almost to the point where unless you're putting your wrist or wherever you may have applied it near your face you really won't smell anything.
The simple bottle design and pretty pink color of the perfume itself looks quite nice sitting on top of the vanity.
I tend to like the more luxurious looking bottles myself but this one is simple and clean cut giving it a minimalistic vibe. Sometimes simple is more.

What's your favorite perfume for the office?

Are you a "Provocative Woman?"

When I think of the word "Provocative" I think of a sexually exciting person or situation.  Unfortunately Elizabeth Arden's scent in  "Provocative Woman" didn't arouse excitement in me in any way. It fell quite short from what I expected from the enticing name.

The bottle design is lack luster and the scent is anything but provocative.
The notes included are; Ginger Lily, Chilled Quince, Water Lotus (Top Notes)
Pink Freesia, Orchid, Papaya Blossom, Amber, Hinoki Wood & White Sand Accord

It's described as an oriental & floral infusion to create a confident & seductive feel. My immediate thought was this smelled much more floral than I thought it was going to which didn't create a seductive feeling in me at all.
The scent itself is not terrible for the olfactory senses in fact it smells quite good if you're into floral scents but the name of the perfume is misleading. When I think of a sexy scent embodying a woman I lean towards the more spicy side of scents, the ones that really pack a punch not something so floral based. I truly don't mind the subtle smell at all, I think it's a pleasant light scent that lingers for a few hours before fading.
On top of the misleading name the bottle is very boring. When it's sitting between gorgeous perfume bottles in the shelf it would be the last one I'd reach for as there's nothing that draws my eyes to it.  There are a million beautifully designed bottles, it almost seems as there was little to no thought on the design for this.

Not a bad scent but it could have been packaged and presented more creatively as well as given a more apt name.

What scent are you currently loving?

Fragrance Collection

In my previous posts I mentioned I don't splurge on luxury perfumes unless I really love them. I did want to show you guy my current fragrance collection though, which as you can see is mostly body mists...but there's nothing wrong with that right?\

From top left to bottom right;

Beauty Rush Winterberry: This is no longer available and I've been carting this around for years. It's probably about time for it to go honestly.

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar (Perfume/Body Mist): For some reason I don't like the smell of the perfume as much as the body spray the perfume has a weird almost chemical scent to it.
  • Top Notes: Intoxicating Vanilla, White Orchid
  • Mid Notes: Vanilla Tonka, Sparkling Sugar, Fresh Coconut, Fresh Jasmine
  • Dry Notes: Warm Vanilla Bean, Cocoa Bean, Creamy Sandalwood

Japanese Cherry Blossom: One of my favorite scents from Bath & Body Works!
  • Top Notes: Asian Pear, Fuji Apple, Ume Plum
  • Mid Notes: Japanese Cherry Blossom, Butterfly Lily, Kyoto Rose, Mimosa Petals
  • Dry Notes: Vanilla Rice, Imperial Amber, Silk Musk, Cinnamon Incense, Himalayan Cedarwood, Creamy Sandalwood
Twilight Woods: Another one of my favorites! It say's online that this is an online exclusive fragrance. I bought mine in store so I'm not sure when it was no longer available in store. Can you tell I love floral/fruity scents?

  • Top Notes: Juicy Berry, Sparkling Mandarin, Coconut
  • Mid Notes: Creamy Frangipani, Soft Mimosa, Wet Honeysuckle, Wild Freesia, Apricot Nectar
  • Dry Notes: Oud Wood, Musk, Orris, Vanilla Milk, Warm Wood

180 Degree Pink: No longer available. I didn't know but I guess this is supposed to resemble 360 Pink by Perry Ellis which I've actually never heard of.

Love Spell - Victoria's Secret: My favorite summer scent. Lately I've been rocking this just about every day. It is a gorgeous smell!
Notes: Cherry Blossom & Peach

Avon Lotus Flower and Raspberry Scents: I couldn't find these online so I don't think they are available anymore. Again, more scents I've been packing around wherever I go that are about ready for the trash. These both have an underlying chemical smell so I wouldn't repurchase any scents from Avon. I got these when my best friends mom was an Avon rep and she always would just give me things to use so I did use them I've had these forever and I don't have any reason for keeping them any longer.

Insignia: I got this for Christmas one year. I'm pretty sure it' just a drugstore perfume.

A&F 8: Again, I couldn't find it online and I'm disappointed as I'm almost out of this and I gues I can't buy a replacement now and I really do love this.

Bath & Body Works Exotic Coconut: Another one that is no longer available. If you know me you know I love anything and everything coconut. Luckily there is no shortage of coconut scented items on the market.

TOP 5 - Most Gorgeous Perfume Bottle Designs

Gorgeous Bottle

The above are my top five favorite perfume bottle designs that I think would look stunning sitting a top any vanity. I didn't include any Marc Jacobs ones as I already created a post all about them.

As you can see I have a running theme with bows, I love bows. I think the Viktor&Rolf Bon Bon perfume is the cutest thing in the world as instead of featuring a bow on the bottle they designed the bottle to look like a bow!

Featuring; Vera Wang - Princess, Chloe, Thierry Mugler Angel, Viktor&Rolf Bon Bon, Kate Spade Walk On Air

Marc Jacobs - Fragrance Master

MARC JACOBS

Although I've never owned an actual Marc Jacobs perfume I know what they all smell like and have received samples upon samples of them. You know when you go into the Bay or any other department store and you walk around spraying all the perfume on those little test strips well you can also ask the beauty advisors for samples and they will give you a tiny little vial of the scent. I'm not ashamed to say that I am that person.

If I could afford the splurge I would own almost every single Marc Jacobs perfume that's been released. 90% of the ones I've tried are all quite floral based. My favorite one as of late is the Marc Jacobs Decadence and look at that bottle! *drools* Designed to look like an iconic Marc Jacobs bag this one smells more musky than the others but it makes it a more sexy scent than the others, one you could wear to a night out on the town with the ladies or your significant other. I fell head over heels with this for the absolutely stunning design and scent and am definitely going to be saving for this one.

Did I mention he has the cutest bottle designs? There is not one that wouldn't look gorgeous sitting on top of your vanity! Honey is one of my favorite looks wise! Marc Jacobs to me has really nailed everything when it comes to fragrance, his scents are beautiful, his bottles are fabulous and seeing as he's a designer of course the price tag is expected to be a little steep but I think if you can afford it go for it. Everyone has to treat themselves once in a while right?

Lusting after....High End Fragrances

Fragrance

I feel like I need to invest some money into more high-end perfumes. From my previous post you know that I can't bring myself to spend dollars upon dollars on something I find quite frivolous unless I will wear it into the ground. I created this wish list of high end perfumes I am lusting over at the moment.

YSL Black Opium: This has notes that I've never seen really seen in other fragrances including coffee accord and although you may not think it works great alongside the floral scents it does and I think it makes it more powerful overall. The bottle would look glamorous on the vanity not to mention, I love the black and pick color scheme along with the sparkle finish of the bottle.

Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb: Like it's male counterpart (which I didn't know was for men, oops) the bottle looks like a grenade which I thought was an incredibly cool concept. I did receive a sample of this way back when with a Sephora order and I'm a sucker for floral scents and I will definitely splurge for this! There is nothing but an explosion of floral notes;
Notes:
Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia, Patchouli.

Elizabeth James Nirvana Black and White:I've always loved the Olsen twins. For me they are one of the greatest style icons and do not dress like any other which is what style is all about. They paved the road for the menswear trend in my eyes and can seemingly pull of anything! I was excited when I heard they had released new fragrances meant to embody the line between feminine and masculine.
Nirvana Black has three notes;  vanilla, sandalwood and violet. Simple but pleasurable.
Nirvana White, the more musky of the two. I've read mixed reviews for this one and I have not tried either yet I'm just inclined to buy them as like I said above the Olsen's are a big icon to me. Of course I will be trying both before I buy. Reading the reviews on the White I'm not sure how I'll feel but I already know I love the notes included in the black so there is no doubt in my mind that I will be saving for that.

Which fragrances are you coveting?

CURRENTLY SAMPLING....PERFUME

Perfume samples are one of my favorite things

They last for quite a long time if they're  a strong scent which the above are and I have a hard time paying a large amount of money unless I fall head over heels for a scent sso it's nice to try before you buy.

I've had these for a while the only reason they haven't been completely used up yet is because I have a lot of body sprays that I use on a daily rotation so I put these to the side and kind of forgot about them for a while.

I received all of these with different Sephora orders, the scents are;

Marc Jacobs Mod Noir and Decadence
Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb

Mod Noir {The airy floral fragrance opens with a field of lush, dewy greens, which give way to freshly cut gardenias floating atop sparkling water. Creamy musks leave a sensual dry down on the skin.- Sephora Description} - The notes are Greens, Gardenia, Creamy Musks.

Mod Noir is nice but I wouldn't purchase it for myself as I didn't love it. It smelled more musky to me than anything and the hint of florals was very very subtle. For $110 CAD I wouldn't get enough wear out of this to justify purchasing it.

Spicebomb {An explosive encounter between two accords with detonating tones: the first, explosive, fuses zesty, fresh notes while the cold spices leave their icy bite. The second, addictive, combines a middle note of incandescent spices with a wholly masculine combination of leather and tobacco as well as the brute force of vetiver. - Sephora} - The notes;
Bergamot, Grapefruit, Cinnamon Leaf, Pink Pepper, Lavandin, Chilli, Saffron, Elemi, Vetiver, Balsam Fir, Tobacco Accord, White Leather Accord.}

I'm not going to lie and pretend like I knew this was a men's scent because I didn't...and I have worn it on myself and I actually really love the smell. Knowing that it's a men's scent won't change the fact that I'll continue to wear it! Wear whatever you like, everything can be unisex if you want it to be. The bottle is really interesting too as it's designed to look like a grenade! There is a lot of different notes with a lot of variety which gives this that explosive smell.

Decadence { A sensual, luxurious, and woody fragrance, Decadence embodies the spirit of irreverent glamour. The fragrance opens with sultry top notes of Italian plum, iris flower, and saffron. The heart combines luxurious notes of Bulgarian rose, jasmine sambac, and orris. The indulgent dry down reveals the base notes of vetiver, papyrus woods, and liquid amber. - Sephora} - The notes; Italian Plum, Iris Flower, Saffron, Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Orris, Vetiver, Papyrus Woods, Liquid Amber.

Say hello to glamour in a bottle. This is by far one of the most gorgeous perfumes my olfactory senses have come across and the bottle would look beautiful on the vanity as it's a designed to look like a Marc Jacobs bag, it even includes a strap to carry it around. My fiance described this as musky and he is not wrong it's got a heavy muskiness to but not to the point where it completely over powers the other notes so it still smells feminine. I'd describe the scent as one that is sexy and sultry. A little spritz on each wrist is more than enough as it can be easy to over do it with this one. This will one day be part of my collection as everything about it is to die for.

What's Victoria's secret?

Start the ultimate seduction with vanilla orchid, sun-drenched clementine and midnight blackberry, made to thrill in a bold red bottle.

Feeling sexy yet?

Hey guys!
Who else has endless amounts of body sprays / perfumes in there collection of wonders? I know I have more than enough to last me a lifetime.

Today I wanted to share my thoughts on one of my favourites; Victoria's Secret "Very Sexy" perfume, as you can see from the picture above I've just about used it up! The notes included are; vanilla orchid, clementine and blackberry. I love anything scented like Vanilla, it is one of my favourite scents and always will be. This is by no means a long lasting perfume but not quite as short lived as a body spray, its right in the middle which is fine with me the bottle is small enough I don't mind having to reapply throughout the day nor do I mind carrying it in my bag. The bottle is glass and since I have last purchased this they have come out with a new bottle design  a much nicer classier bottle then the one I currently own. This costs about $52 USD for the smaller bottle (one above) the smell is fantastic if you are a vanilla fan please go take a sniff next time you're out and about.

Review: Abercrombie & Fitch - 8

image
Hello everyone! Today I wanted to review a perfume I’ve loved for years. I was never much of a fan of Abercrombie & Fitch and after last year’s events, I’ve been even less inclined to buy their products. However I’ve had this bottle for years as I’m not much of a perfume wearer. I actually really do love this perfume, it smells quite sultry and maybe is more of an evening perfume but I tend to wear it on the daily as you can see you from the bottle you don’t need to use very much. It’s not the longest lasting but I don’t carry it around and top up as the bottle is glass. The design of this perfume is nothing special but not terrible. If you’re looking for a sultry perfume give this a go!
