Skincare with Aveeno

As far as skincare goes Aveeno is one of my favorites. Like I've stated many times over in various posts I suffer with very dry skin and it's not just my face it's my scalp and body as well year round. I envy people who only have dry skin in the winter months.

Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing lotion helps keep the dryness at bay but they do have a lotion for eczema which I suffered with severely on my legs when I was very young. Although the daily moisturizing lotion helps keep my dryness away when I stop using it I'm right back to where I started so I'm looking into the eczema cream for a winter alternative as I imagine it's a much heavier lotion. Aveeno uses collodial oatmeal as an active ingredient which supposedly helps to restore and maintain our skin's moisture barrier. It's a bit more pricey than other drugstore lotions but I've tried many and this one has been my favorite and is well worth the price tag.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer  The active ingredient in this is a soy complex which is used to even out skin tone and texture making it more radiant. There is another version of this moisturizer with SPF 30 which I wish I had but this came in a set with a night cream as well so I'm not too disappointed. It mentions on the back of the bottle that natural light diffusers reflect light to visibly smooth inperfections. I think that's more of a gimmick than anything as I didn't really notice my skin tone changing at all or looking brighter. As for the texture it does help to smooth it out and your skin feels much more supple after use. It's a bit to light of a moisturizer for my liking especially come the winter months but for people with sensitive skin who are looking for something they can wear daily with SPF in the summer this would be great.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Intensive Night Cream This was included in the set with the Positively Radiant Moisturizer. This not only uses the active soy complex but it's enriched with Vitamin B3 as well. Out of all the things included in the gift set (positively radiant moisturizer/face wipes and night cream) this was my favorite product. It's not scented so great for sensitive skinned folk. It's a much heavier cream than the moisturizer but surprisingly soaked into the skin rather quickly as you rubbed it in. I hate to say it as I do love Aveeno as a brand but I didn't notice much more radiance to my skin with any of these porducts but I did notice after putting it on at night I woke up with softer and more moisturized skin but that's about it.

What is your favorite skin care brand?

Brand Love: Aveeno

Hey!
Does anyone else have that certain brand, where no matter what product you try you are never disappointed? Avenue is that brand for me. As you should know if you've been reading my blog for a while, I suffer with very dry skin. Not just on my face, my entire body. I used to have a bad case of eczema on my legs as a kid. So bad that I used to scream when my mom put lotion on me. Luckily my legs are no longer scaly and embarrassing. I believe I more or less grew out of it as it seemed to go away as I got older and I really didn't start using lotion until my late teens. My mom always preached to me the importance of lotion and now I know why.

Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Lotion has been the only lotion moisturizing enough for my body, all others I've tried immediately sink in and I'm left with dry skin in about an hour. I haven't used the above face products yet but will report back when I do. I don't expect any disappointments though. I'm really excited to use them as my face is always parched. Unfortunately I'm almost through that entire bottle!

Avenue truly is a great brand all around.

E m p t i e s

Hey everyone! I've got some empties to share with you tonight, I am not one for having many empty products at the end of the month but I did have a few so I thought why not share? Well that is if you guys are interested in seeing what I use....haha.

I'll start with the one that's not in the photo which is Inecto coconut face wipes. They were just a cheap drugstore product I posted a review not too long ago on them. I LOVE wipes mostly because I'm far too lazy to have a face regimen.

On deck next is Maybelline Master precise felt tip liner, this stuff makes the most inept person be able to do the most glamorous winged eye.

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar body lotion, I have quite the B&B obsession right now actually just bought the most wonderful smelling candle there the other day. It's called Apple Flower, seriously go smell it.

Tresemme hair spray and Nivea's Happy Time body wash. I don't have much to say about the hairspray I posted a review last month. The body wash, I will not lie to you guys I mostly bought this because of the name BUT not only that it smells like oranges and makes your whole bathroom a scent sauna its fabulous really and cheap, so killed two birds with one stone there.

As you see I do not really go through a lot of products but just wanted to show you the ones I have used all up recently.

What have you guys used up lately, let me know in a comment!

It's a mini bath haul!

Hey everyone,  just a little mini haul. After taking the photo I realized I forgot something. Rookie mistake! haha.
I went to Bath & Body Works a little while back and they were of course having their infamous buy two get one, buy three get two, so naturally I was drawn right in. Yes there is one product that is actually from Victoria’s Secret.
The item missing in this little photo is the Warm Sugar Vanilla perfume. I picked up the Lovespell body spray from VS and wow I fell in LOVE by far one of my favorite scents!
The other products are the Warm Vanilla Sugar body spray and lotion and the Japanese Cherry Blossom body lotion. Hmm can you tell I like vanilla? ;)

Review: Twilight Woods Lotion - Bath & Body Works

Hello everyone! I lost my SD card for my camera, days before I’m to leave for Florida, lucky me! So the photo is not mine unfortunately, I’m about halfway through my bottle!
image
First off the design of the bottle, nothing special just a plastic bottle as most lotions are packaged in although the Bath & Body works labels are very girly and cute.
The claim to this lotion on the website is “America’s #1 Body Lotion just got better! With 2 x the moisture and 3 x the Shea, our enhanced lotion contains more of what skin loves, leaving it feeling incredibly soft, smooth and nourished. Fortified with nutrient-rich ingredients like protective Vitamin E and fast absorbing Jojoba Oil, our ultra-nourishing formula delivers 16 hours of continuous moisture.”
I agree it keeps skin smooth, but 16 hours of continuous moisture? No, I don’t think so. Stretching the truth Bath & Body Works a bit, don’t you think? I have ultimately dry skin and this helps but I apply every second day after showering so it has no more staying power then other lotions I’ve tried.
Last thing to mention is the scent, by far one of the most famous and original scents B&BW has to offer. It’s in my top five along with Warm Sugar Vanilla, Japanese Cherry Blossom, Vanilla Bean Latte and Winter Candy Apple (both from the winter line). I find it’s a very musky scent and not overpoweringly sweet like some of the other scents. I wear this year round but I do consider it more of a fall//winter scent.
If you’re looking for a new lotion, check it out. I recommend buying it when B&BW has many of their buy 2 or 3 get 2 or 3 products free sales ;)

Winter and Dry Skin

Hello everyone! My skin is dry naturally and gets about a thousand times more dry during the winter season. I've never for the life of me been able to find any body cream, lotion butter or any moisturizing product to keep the dryness at bay. It's horrible and really unpleasant for me. Recently I hit up Bath and Body Works and picked up two of their holiday creams. The Winter Candy Apple and Vanilla Bean. I'll be honest I mostly bought these for the smells, they smell LOVELY. Do any of you have dry skin and find it difficult to find products to quench your skins thirst?
