C E T A P H I L

This post is for all you dry skinned ladies, I know the struggle.

I have searched for something that would satisfy my skins never ending thirst for moisture for a long time and I've come pretty close with this Cetaphil moisturizer.

I use this at night after I shower because my face is always the most dry after I shower although it can be used in the morning! It's saved my skin! I like to research products before throwing away my money generally if it's mixed reviews I'll still buy because what may not work or another could do wonders for you. There was a lot of complaints about this burning people's skin....I don't get that with it's definitely not meant for people with oily skin! Just stay away if you do have oily or combo leaning more towards oily. It can be a tad greasy on the face if you use too much I use about a pump and a half to cover my whole face and because my skin is the sahara desert it takes no time at all for it to soak in, my face drinks it up and another bonus is it's got added sun protection, who doesn't need a some SPF in their life.

I haven't noticed any difference in the appearance of my skin but it has beyond helped my dryness more than anything else I've tried and it's a drugstore moisturizer so it's affordable.

Anyone with dry skin have anything they love? Leave your recommendations in a comment!

2015 Spring Fashion Week Trends

Statement lips, bold and not so bold eyeliner, pops of colour, smokey eyes (a smokey eye will never go out of style) and even the bare minimum is what took over this years runways for Spring's 2015 Fashion Week!

There wasn't a definite trend with eyeliner as it went from none - simple - dramatic, from pictures it looked as if almost every designer had their own idea of what should be done with the eyeliner, the colour trend popped out in a lot of different shows.

(Saint Laurent)

Bold Lips

I'm not sure if I've made it clear on this blog but I am a lipstick slave, I will rarely leave the house to go do something without something on my lips, I own a ridiculous amount probably more than I will ever use but hey, you can never have enough different lip colours right? So I absolutely LOVED seeing the bright and bold or the dramatic and dark lips.

(Zac Posen)

(Number 21)

(Missoni)

(Dolce & Gabanna - Kendall Jenner, one of my style icons, I adore her)

COLOR POP

I loved seeing the different ways colour was being used on the eyes, the creativity behind these shows and the make up artists is truly amazing and I only dream to get a glimpse one day. There was a lot of blue used I noticed while looking through photos and purples, I am not a fan of purple because I have yet to master the look it not looking bruised...

(Honor)

(Max Mara)

ALMOST NAKED

The au naturel look, bare minimum. I think this will always be a trend during spring and summer just as the smokey eye will always be a trend.

(Tory Burch)

My favourite was definitely the pops of colour, it gave me a lot of inspiration. Let me know which one you guys love in the comments!

Rimmel - STAY AWAKE

Hello everyone! Another new post, I'm like a whole new person who posts regularly, haha.

I'm going to talk about concealers, I don't think I've ever done a post on any sort of cover up so this will be new for me and all of you. I wanted to talk about Rimmel London's Stay Awake concealer (p.s. they have a foundation too which is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C, highly recommend).

I have the lightest shade suitably name "very fair" for my poor pale skin.

This concealer has a nice creamy texture to it, I recently heard someone saying theirs had got watery after a while I have never had this problem and I've had this concealer for a few months now. The coverage is light - medium I'd say as you can see in the above photo, covered a few freckles at least! I would not recommend this a under eye concealer if you have very dark circles. I don't even have extreme dark circles but I find this is not enough to cover mine so if you're searching for that HG concealer this won't be a great option for you. Rimmel being a drug store brand is super affordable and this concealer is available at most drug stores/department stores. I picked mine up at Wal-Mart for around $9.99 CAD.

What do you guys think of this concealer? Let me know in the comments

Facial Wipes, the lazy way of removing makeup

Hey everyone!

I am here to talk about facial wipes. I won't lie to you guys I am horribly lazy when it comes to washing my face and removing makeup, which makes me a fan of the ever so handy facial wipes! I bought these for about $8.99 CAD at my local drug mart.
Inecto is a brand I've never heard of, to be honest I bought these for the coconut.
These have been much less useful to me than my other wipes. When I first opened the package the cloths were barely moist but they do a fine job of removing makeup but because they are on the drier side they tug on the skin which makes for an unpleasant experience. They have no smell, they are packaged like most makeup removing wipes I've seen.
I could have got worse for my money...but if you see this in the drug store do yourself a favor and buy something that'll be worth your money.

LUSH - OCEAN SALT

image

The LUSH Ocean Scrub sea salt, I wouldn’t say I LOVE this product but because I only use it a couple of days a  week I should take a gander into my local LUSH and buy the full size as I’ve only been using the samples I have which have lasted me over two months. The ingredients in this scrub include fine and coarse sea salt, lime and vodka, avocado butter and coconut.
LUSH’s claim “Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt, dead skin and blockages for a bright, fresh face. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, leaving it balanced and soft. The cleansing effects of lime and vodka are ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes and leave skin visibly brightened. It’s no wonder Ocean Salt is so enormously popular!”
The smell is fresh and smells just like standing on the sea side which is lovely. Due to the vodka, lime and salt this scrub is quite drying on the face for me as I have already extremely dry skin but I only use this twice a week along with a facial moisturizer to hydrate my skin afterwards. I have a noticed a difference in the roughness of my skin and it does look a lot better using this. I have yet to try this on my body but am looking forward to using it on my legs. I will be buying the full size of this product as the benefits outweigh the cons.

MAC Studio Scuplt Foundation

I'm one of those girls who never wore foundation for YEARS and I mean like until I was 18/19, for I believed it would ruin my skin. I'm twenty and recently just purchased a new foundation, the MAC Studio Sculpt to be exact.

No, this is not the first foundation I've ever bought but it is so far the only one I've tried and found to work extremely well. It might almost have too heavy coverage for my skin, after all I have pretty nice skin aside from it being dry I've never had any acne problems or anything with my face. That's the only worry I have with this is that I might end up looking a bit cake face due to the amount of coverage it gives so I have to be very cautious with how much I apply. I have this in NC20 which is a shade darker than my skin. The lady at the counter at the Bay asked if I preferred it to match my skin or be a bit darker. At first we tried the shade which unfortunately I can't remember the name of that matched my skin and MY GOD I looked dead so she then matched me with this. It blends so flawlessly and sinks into my skin almost immediately, if you do have problematic skin this is buildable and for those summery sunny months it has an SPF of 15. This foundation does not go patchy through the day which I find a lot of foundations on my skin do because my skin is so parched. Overall I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Bye for now! c:
