Spring Shoe Fever

SHOES

Hello loves.

I'm starting to get a real case of SAD, it seems as if the snow is never going to stop here.
My current shoe wardrobe is in serious need of updating so I thought why not create a spring shoe wish list?

I'd like to add more pops of color as I tend to stick to the neutrals when it comes to footwear.

Doc Martens  - Are these not the most appropriate spring color?! I've been lusting after a pair of Docs for years but at $200 they're not exactly budget friendly. One day I will own some.

Guess Sandals - I hope gladiator sandals never stop being stylish. They're comfortable and easy to pair and this pop of pink screams spring and summer.

Billabong Sandals - I have a slight obsession with sandals during this time of year because I despise socks. As soon as I can stop wearing socks I will until the bitter cold returns.

F21 Sandals - Oh, what's this? Another sandal! You bet. I need something for those summer party nights and these fit the bill.

Cut Out Boots -  Boots are a more comfortable way to rock a heel and are office appropriate while still having bare feet.

Wrap up Sandals - This particular  pair is out of my price range but the wrapped look is super cute and one I've never tried to pull off. I like how these are flat as well.

Bow Sandals - Simple but cute and easy to wear.

Do you guys bare it all during spring or do you continue to cover those toes up?

tosave

Good morning loves!
Back in December I was invited to collaborate with http://www.tosave.com/
An affordable online e-commerce retailer with a range of categories to choose from. Of course, with sites like these you want to be careful, usually based out of China, expect long shipping times and low quality products. They had such a great selection of things to choose from so I went ahead and accepted the invite and placed my order.

The shipping time was horrendous, I waited for just over two months to get my package but I've ordered off similar sites before such as Romwe and Shein and had about the same waiting time so this was expected. All three items arrived in good condition and were packaged well in bubble wrap.

I was in desperate need of a pair of sunglasses. That's where these Round Hippie Sunglasses come into play. I got mine in the shade green. These were only $1.50! and I'm the type of person who's quite careless with their sunglasses. I like to chuck them in my bag and be on my way. They were in good condition and have withstood the depths of my purse thus far. The only downfall was these do look a little ridiculous on but at least they protect my eyes from those harsh UV Rays.

This I got in the color black because I don't think you can ever go wrong with black lace. It screams sexy to me. Again, I was surprised by the quality. Lace is a delicate material to begin with and this arrived with no rips or tears. Attached by a string is a choker, now when I put this on the string attaching the choker to the body suit was loose so I cut it off. The choker is just held together with velcro so not the greatest quality but it still works.I love the looks of this bodysuit and it makes the perfect layering piece. Hello sex bomb.

This item looks completely different in person. On the website it looks as though it has a v-neck type neckline but when you put it on it's straight across. The shirt itself is still a nice, wearable shirt but I'm disappointed that it wasn't what I thought it would be. The material is wispy and thin leaving a see through appearance. I'm going to be layering this with lace bralets for the summer.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchases. They are of better quality than I expected and for such an incredibly low price tag you can't go wrong.

What's your favorite online retailer?

ARITZIA #2

ARITZIA #2
Hello loves.

Forgive me for it's been so long. December is such a busy month, I haven't even finished Christmas shopping yet and it's right around the corner. *Gasps*

I've got two family dinners this weekend and an oil change this week and so many other things to do. I feel like my heads going to spin round till it falls off!

So, I wanted to pop in with a quick little wish list post. Featuring, Aritizia. I know I just made an Aritizia one not long ago but it is my favorite store. I hope you guys like these. I know I enjoy writing them and creating a curated wish list. The trend this year seems to be burgundy and gray.

Blanket Scarf -  In the winter, I live in scarves and I honestly don't think there's such a thing as too many.

Bodysuit - Perfect layering pieces for the colder weather.

Suede Skirt - Just because its winter doesn't mean I stop wearing skirts or dresses. They're so easy to wear in the office.

Slip Dress - This dress, reminds me of a night gown if I'm honest. At the same time thought its also what's drawing me in to it.

Turtleneck Dress - For a Canadian you think I would own more items that keep my neck warm. Well you're wrong, I don't think I own even one turtleneck. Why not start with a turtleneck dress?

Lace Blouse -  Party perfection really

Skirt - I just don't feel like I own enough skirts.

Turtleneck - I'm severely lacking in winter wardrobe pieces.

What do you need for your winter wardrobe?

Aritzia Wishlist #1

Aritzia

Oh hello loves.

With Christmas lingering just around the corner I'm on a bit of a spending ban. I don't know why but I love to torture myself. When I put myself on a spending ban I proceed to peruse my favorite websites/clothing retailers to see what I would like to purchase in the future.

Aritzia is a Canadian born brand that was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia.
I adore Aritzia but their price tags are not always budget friendly. My family gifts me an Aritzia gift card every Christmas so why not start the wish list early?

Talula Cardigan - I bought one extremely similar to this last year in white and it's honestly one of the warmest sweaters I've ever owned albeit being a tad itchy from the wool.

Wilfred Sweater -  The scallop hem on this is what caught my eye. It makes it stand out among a sea of regular sweaters. I like that it's cropped as it would pair great with some high waisted pants.

TNA Shirt - This is more of a I just need some warmer winter wear.

Wilfred Sweater - They have this in a gorgeous baby blue color which I love. Again, I really am lacking in the winter sweater department.

Bodysuit - I know, body suits are inconvenient for a lot of things but they really can add some extra dimension to an outfit and are great for layering.

Plaid Shirt - Plaid, the classic staple that everyone needs at least one of, or ten.

Pom Pom Hat - Beanies are perfect for winter or if you're having a bad hair day.

There you have it the items I'm currently lusting after. I seriously need to begin building a better winter wardrobe.

What is your favorite store?

TOPSHOP Wishlist #2

TOPSHOP

Topshop, I'm so happy you finally have a stand alone store in Alberta. Oh, how long I've waited.

I think European stores have such gorgeous and different pieces from what's on the market in most of the Canadian/American stores. Zara & Topshop being two of those. Topshop recently (three years ago) opened a stand alone store in Chinook Centre and I coudln't have been more excited. Albeit being in there numerous times I've yet to purchase much. Hence my second Topshop wish list!

Suede Boots  - These boots while simple still have the ability to make an outfit. I honestly don't know if there's such a thing as too many pairs of boots.\

Plaid Peplum - Okay, so I adore the look of peplum tops yet....I own none? Maybe it's time I tried out a new style on myself.

Sequin Bodycon - The instance I saw this my mind jumped to New Years Eve! Glitter is always appropriate on that night.

Cross Body Bag - I'm more of  carry my life in my bag kind of girl but sometimes having a smaller option around is handy.

Cropped Knit - I want to step out of my comfort zone and try wearing more daring items. I am quite body self conscious but I do think a cropped knit like this would look cute paired with my high waisted disco pants or anything high waisted really.

Embroidered Skirt - Embroidery is the trend I've yet to try and while I'd love to get my hands on some embroidered boots this skirt is calling my name.

What's your favorite store?

TRENDING: Mini Bags

{none of the photos in this post are mine, credit to their respectful owners}

Mini bags, are the IT accessory for SS17.

I'm a woman who carries my life around with me so for me, the bigger the bag the better.
Don't get me wrong I think these tiny little bags are adorable but nowhere near practical.

If you're someone who only carries your phone and some cards with you then a mini bag may be the accessory to pick up this summer.

This mint one is so cute, the color alone is almost tempting enough for me to purchase.

A trend that unfortunately I won't be joining this season. I'm going to continue lugging around my suit case like purses so I can keep all my necessities handy.

What do you guys think of the mini bag trend?

Hope you guys like the look.

MET GALA 2017

The most fashionable event of the year, The Met Gala.
Forget the Oscars this is what true fashion fans look forward to every year.
The theme of the gala this year was Rei Kawakubo/Commes des Garconnes exhibition, a famous fashion designer who is well known for her avant garde deisgns.

Let's take a look at some of my favorite outfits of the night....

Rihanna

She nailed the theme and had one of my absolute favorite outfits of the night. Not only was her outfit perfect her makeup was gorgeous and matched so well. Can we take a moment to admire these lace up boots though? (Where can I get a pair?)

Kendall Jenner

How could I not showcase the beautiful Kendall Jenner who showed quite a lot of skin in this revealing piece paired with simple eyes and a bold red lip. Black is always a classic.

Nicki Minaj

Queen Nicki looking fierce as ever. I absolutely adore the red and black. The mixture of edgy and girly is what I think really gives this outfit it's edge. Again Nicki like Kendall went with simple eye makeup and that statement red lip.

Cara Delevigne

I simply love Cara. She's not afraid of what people think of her and she seems comfortable and confident in her skin which is hard for many people. Cara's outfit reminds me of another world, an alien one if you will. I love that she chose a pant suit instead of a classic dress.

There are just a few of my favorite looks from the night although there were so many more incredible ones. There was no possible way for me to fit all of them into one post.

Who wore your favorite look?

TREND ALERT: Anklets

Trending

Bless 90's fashion.
How I miss those grungy days with the chokers and brown lips and the earlier 90's where brightly neon colored windbreakers were all the rage.

What's coming back this season?

Anklets.

I've never really been a fan of anklets but after creating this collage and seeing the gorgeous ones the market has these days I'm thinking about heading to the shops and picking some up for myself this summer.

I live in sandals once the weather warms up, by live I mean I'll wear sandals until the snow starts to fall again. Although I never thought of wearing them before I do think an anklet could add some jazz to an otherwise plain outfit.

I am loving the gorgeous draped silver anklet pictured above by Rebecca Minkoff, there's also one in gold but I much prefer the look of silver accessories. How cute would this be for a day out at the beach?

What do you guys think, yay or nay?

TRENDING: White Ankle Boots

At the beginning of the month I wrote a post on the new & upcoming trends for SS17.
Well, turns out I missed one that I'm really excited for, white ankle boots!
Now, I love black. Yesterday, I honestly wore ALL BLACK down to my socks. Black boots are the easiest things to style as they go with everything and still look great.

The 80's may be on their way back but this is trend is stepping right out of the 60's.

I wanted to share my favorite white booties with you all!

TRENDING

Balenciaga - If you didn't notice most of the boots I featured here all have chunky heels and more rounded toes which I why I chose to add these Balenciaga ones. The sharp stiletto heel and pointed toe really give them an edge.

Marc Jacobs - I like that these are cream colored instead of your standard stark white.

Proenza Schouler - This pair of boots with the color blocking really give me some serious 60's vibes.

Acne Studios - The statement heel on these is what gives them their edge. It would definitely draw attention and give your outfit a little oopmh.

Those are some of my favorite boots, even though I can't afford them a girl can dream right?

Are you going to be rocking white boots this upcoming season?

TOPSHOP wishlist

TOPSHOP wishlist

 Hello everyone.

I hope you guys enjoy these wish list posts. Being an adult means a lot of bills and car troubles which means frivolous purchases get put on hold.

I'm such a nosey bugger so I personally love these types of posts to see what others are eyeing up in the shops. Today I wanted to feature a store that's only been in Canada for the past few years. That store is no other than TOPSHOP  which I believe originated in the United Kingdom.

I love clothing far more than I love makeup although that may be difficult to tell from the lack of fashion posts on my blog. That's going to change, I'll still do my beauty but I really do want to bring more fashion related posts into my little space and I hope you guys will enjoy the posts as much as I enjoy creating them!

On to the wish list then...

Moto Shorts - I love the stud detailing on these bad boys they make them much more edgy than if they were just a pair of plain black shorts.

Embroidered Boots - These are just stunning and as much as I adore the embroidered boots, I've yet to purchase myself a pair.

Bag - Honestly guys, I'm in dire need of a new bag. Something not black for once. I don't think I've ever owned a bag that wasn't black.

Criss Cross Top - I've always shyed away from these types of tops because of my lack of boobs but honestly I shouldn't care. I'm sure I can pull it off as well as any other out there!

Court Shoes -  A girl can always use a new pair of shoes. {especially if you work in the office like myself}

Lace Up Velvet Dress - Velvet is all I can say. I love anything velvet.

White Ripped Joni Jeans - I love the look of white jeans and I think it can add something to an outfit that a normal pair of blue denim jeans can't {can I keep them clean is the real question}

Tassel Necklace - I'm not the type of person to buy expensive jewelry. I'm so careless with it so the cheaper the better I say and I love this tassel one.

Let me know if you guys like this post and what you're currently wishing for?

OOTD - Lace Lover

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I last posted an OOTD due to me wearing the same outfits over and over for work.
While I do love makeup, fashion is what holds my heart and I missed showcasing that so I wanted to bring back some style to my blog.
I wear this dungaree dress all the time but usually paired with something plain and simple. Today I switched it up and threw on a sweater with lace detailing on the arms to give it a little edge with a belt around the waist to add some shape. Everything in this look is second hand, who says thrifted clothes aren't cute?

Do you guys enjoy these posts?

Spring 2017 - Trend Report

New season, new fashion.
For 2017 there are some new trends stepping on to the scene and some that are making their way back. Let's take a look! {please note - these images are not mine, credit goes to their respectful owners)

Statement Sleeves

{left to right - Jacquemus, Saint Laurent, Mugler}

Statement sleeves are everywhere and have been for some time. I probably noticed statement sleeves beginning to pop up last summer and they're steadily gaining popularity and currently flooding my Instagram feed. I love the ruffles of the sleeves for the Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2017 runway. Saint Laurent kept it quite simple compared to many other designers runway showcases this year but it's still effective with the sleeves being the most detailed part of the LBD (little black dress). Mugler's was one of my favorites. The design looks extremely futuristic and architectural making it really stand out on the runway. I'm not the biggest fan of statement sleeves and will be leaving this to the more bold & daring out there.

Oxford Shirts

A few years ago menswear for women was all the rage thanks to the beloved Olson twins.
Business chic is popping back on the scene thanks to the classic Oxford shirt.

{left to right - J. Crew, Rag & Bone, Off-White}

J.Crew worked the Oxford trend with an striped off the shoulder top pairing it with a gorgeous draped skirt giving it that feminine edge. Rag & Bone created a simple but edgy look using an oversized boyfriend fit oxford shirt. Alternatively you could take the Rag & Bone oversized look and instead of jeans throw a belt around the waist to give the body some shape and wear some chunky boots for an egdy but girly look. Off-White combined statement sleeves and oxford amalgamating two of Spring's hottest trends. I'd wear this as a more relaxed outfit maybe throwing some statement heels or layering some jewelry to create a more boho vibe.

Mini Bags

I don't know about anyone else but I tend to carry my life in my bag. The mini bag while cute isn't practical. I mean what could I carry in this? My wallet is bigger!

Western Wear

{left to right - Rodarte, Robert Cavalli & Alberta Ferretti}

I didn't expect to see western wear become a trend but I'm not disappointed. Although I couldn't picture myself pulling this off I sure admired the runway looks! I loved the cute simple dress from Alberta Ferretti with the layered western style belts. Rodartes fringed jacket is encrusted with diamonds! Talk about western infused glamour.

Color & 80's Throwback

 {left to right -  Saint Laurent, Balenciaga & Monse Spring}

You read it right. The 80's are making a comeback and are making the most of the runways this season. Not to mention the 80's trend combines just about every other trend we've seen splash the runways of fashion week. Saint Laurent showcased a metallic mini dress with sharp shoulders on point with the statement sleeve trend we previously saw. Balenciaga mixed bright fun colors into their 80's look another trend sure to be making a colorful statement this year. Monse Spring's evening wear dress was decked out with sparkle and featured a tattered/edgy looking slit showing a little leg and an off the shoulder finish.
For me, the 80's can stay in the 80's.

What are your favorite trends this year?

H&M

H&M

Hello loves!

Spring is in the air and I couldn't be more thrilled!
What better way to welcome Spring to my blog than with a Spring fashion wish list highlighting one of my favorite stores, H&M.

Suede Loafers - Okay, I've never owned a pair of loafers before. But I've seen so many fashion bloggers rocking these recently obviously sparking my interest. Comfortable but still stylish and the pale pink coloring is to die for.

Khaki Skinny Jeans - Khaki has been blowing up the last couple years and I'd really enjoy something different from my usual black legging/skinny jeans

Floral Jumpsuit - I hope floral stays on trend because I truly love it and this jumpsuit is perfect for spring.

Bralette - I love lace, it can really make an outfit.

Fringe Sandals - With spring coming there's always a reason to purchase a new pair of sandals.

Dress - the cut out detailing on this is like nothing else I currently have in my wardrobe and I love wearing dresses, especially in spring.

Bomber Jacket - Honestly, I'm not sure how I'd style this but I've always admired bomber jackets and the quilting on the sleeves makes it a little more special.

Ankle boots - I'm in dire need of a new pair of boots. Mine are all currently looking worse for wear.

Jumpsuit - Mint is one of my favorite colors and this jumpsuit screams summer to me.

What trends are you loving for Spring?

Shoe Wishlist

Shoes on Shoes on Shoes

Hello loves!

I am not a huge shoe fanatic, why?
Mostly because I find shoes to expensive, even cheap ones.
I've bought $200 boots from a well known brand that have still fallen apart within a year and I've had a pair of $40 heels from H&M that lasted in good condition for four years.
Due to me rarely buying shoes the ones I currently have in my collection are close to the end of their lives. That led us to today's blog post, my shoe wishlist. A lot of these aren't necessarily in my price range but you can always find cheaper dupes else where.

Saint Laurent Babies 90 Ankle Boots - I've never owned a pair of patent leather boots but I've seen these every where and would love finally have a pair.

Vans Sneakers - Again, believe it or not I've never owned a white pair of sneakers. Mostly due to the fact that I never saw the purpose. I mean they're not going to stay pristine white for long. Despite that I've seen them styled in such cute ways I wouldn't mind owning a pair.

Hudson London Geneve Suede Ankle Boot - I love boots. They are my favorite form of foot wear and I don't think you can ever have enough of them. The cut out detailing on these make them more of a statement boot without being over the top.

Karl Lagerfield Paris Larose Suede Lace Up Flats - Love the lace up detailing on these. These would be perfect for the office as they are flats so they won't hurt your feet but are still cute with the lace ups.

Gianvito Rossi Suede Pumps - I don't own a nice pair of pumps that I could wear for a night out. These are simple, classic and elegant and because they're black they can be easily styled for a night on the town.

N 21 Nude Calf Leather Bow Pumps - I just think these are some of the most gorgeous shoes I've ever laid my eyes on and I love the pale pink coloring.

Madden Girl Direct Caged Sandals  - I don't own any shoes like this and I love how interesting they look. These will definitely spice up any outfit.

Jimmy Choo Vixen 130  - What woman doesn't wish to have a pair of Jimmy Choos?
I love how high the heel is {although I may not be able to walk in them} and the bow at the back is so cute!

What shoes are you lusting after?

OOTD - Just Give Me A Reason

Hello again loves!

This morning, I stepped out to take some snaps of my outfit and even though it's still -10 degrees outside it felt like spring. Of course, I'm comparing this to the last two days where it was -37 so it's not spring yet but it sure has warmed up a lot. I can't wait until the sun pokes out once again!

Fun fact: My tights never dried fully last night, so I was quite chilled to the bone while taking these.

I know my last OOTD featured this exact skirt but I've been loving it! It's a fun and easy print to pair and is perfect for the office.

Details;
Sweater: H&M
Shirt: Aritzia (could not find on website)
Skirt and Triangle Necklace: Thrifted
Boots: Forever 21
Slinky Neckalce; H&M

I hope you guys like it.

Liquid Silver

Hello everyone!
I'm sorry for the couple day break I took I've been busy what with Christmas being in the next couple of weeks.
I looked forever to find these discontinued Spartan Liquid Silver leggings from Blackmilk Clothing and was so ecstatic when I got my hands on them!
I'd also had this shirt sitting in my closet for months that I thrifted from my mom and was wondering how to style it so I figured I'd throw some different textures together to create a more interesting outfit. This shirt is extremely soft but it had shoulder pads, so lord knows how old it must be. Of course I cut those out before wearing the shirt as I don't need any added broadness to my shoulders.
I hope you guys like the look and if you haven't checked out Blackmilk you should as they're designs are one of a kind!

Scarf: Aldo Accessories
Shirt: Thrifted {Mom}
Leggings: Blackmilk {Discontinued}

What are your favorite ways to style different textures?

Shades of Gray - OOTD

Hello loves!
The Alberta weather has been so good to us lately, I hope it continues. Usually by this time it's already minus 25 and snow is everywhere to be seen. At the moment the sun is shining and there is not a speck of white on the ground.

I'm going to be wearing skirts & dresses until the weather no longer allows it.

The above photo didn't turn out great, my apologies.
I was quite rushed this morning and made many attempts to get a proper photo showing the back detail of this shirt but this was about the only one out of a hundred that did any justice.
The skirt and shirt were both handed down to me by a friend, nothing wrong with second hand in my book. Sometimes those thrifted finds are the best ones!
The sweater is fairly old and is from Sirens. I thought Aritzia carried a similar one but I was unable to find it on their site.
The boots are from Forever 21 which have lasted a long time for Forever 21's quality standards.

I hope you like it!

What are your favorite sweaters for Fall & Winter?
