TRENDING: White Ankle Boots

At the beginning of the month I wrote a post on the new & upcoming trends for SS17.
Well, turns out I missed one that I'm really excited for, white ankle boots!
Now, I love black. Yesterday, I honestly wore ALL BLACK down to my socks. Black boots are the easiest things to style as they go with everything and still look great.

The 80's may be on their way back but this is trend is stepping right out of the 60's.

I wanted to share my favorite white booties with you all!

TRENDING

Balenciaga - If you didn't notice most of the boots I featured here all have chunky heels and more rounded toes which I why I chose to add these Balenciaga ones. The sharp stiletto heel and pointed toe really give them an edge.

Marc Jacobs - I like that these are cream colored instead of your standard stark white.

Proenza Schouler - This pair of boots with the color blocking really give me some serious 60's vibes.

Acne Studios - The statement heel on these is what gives them their edge. It would definitely draw attention and give your outfit a little oopmh.

Those are some of my favorite boots, even though I can't afford them a girl can dream right?

Are you going to be rocking white boots this upcoming season?

Spring 2017 - Trend Report

New season, new fashion.
For 2017 there are some new trends stepping on to the scene and some that are making their way back. Let's take a look! {please note - these images are not mine, credit goes to their respectful owners)

Statement Sleeves

{left to right - Jacquemus, Saint Laurent, Mugler}

Statement sleeves are everywhere and have been for some time. I probably noticed statement sleeves beginning to pop up last summer and they're steadily gaining popularity and currently flooding my Instagram feed. I love the ruffles of the sleeves for the Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2017 runway. Saint Laurent kept it quite simple compared to many other designers runway showcases this year but it's still effective with the sleeves being the most detailed part of the LBD (little black dress). Mugler's was one of my favorites. The design looks extremely futuristic and architectural making it really stand out on the runway. I'm not the biggest fan of statement sleeves and will be leaving this to the more bold & daring out there.

Oxford Shirts

A few years ago menswear for women was all the rage thanks to the beloved Olson twins.
Business chic is popping back on the scene thanks to the classic Oxford shirt.

{left to right - J. Crew, Rag & Bone, Off-White}

J.Crew worked the Oxford trend with an striped off the shoulder top pairing it with a gorgeous draped skirt giving it that feminine edge. Rag & Bone created a simple but edgy look using an oversized boyfriend fit oxford shirt. Alternatively you could take the Rag & Bone oversized look and instead of jeans throw a belt around the waist to give the body some shape and wear some chunky boots for an egdy but girly look. Off-White combined statement sleeves and oxford amalgamating two of Spring's hottest trends. I'd wear this as a more relaxed outfit maybe throwing some statement heels or layering some jewelry to create a more boho vibe.

Mini Bags

I don't know about anyone else but I tend to carry my life in my bag. The mini bag while cute isn't practical. I mean what could I carry in this? My wallet is bigger!

Western Wear

{left to right - Rodarte, Robert Cavalli & Alberta Ferretti}

I didn't expect to see western wear become a trend but I'm not disappointed. Although I couldn't picture myself pulling this off I sure admired the runway looks! I loved the cute simple dress from Alberta Ferretti with the layered western style belts. Rodartes fringed jacket is encrusted with diamonds! Talk about western infused glamour.

Color & 80's Throwback

 {left to right -  Saint Laurent, Balenciaga & Monse Spring}

You read it right. The 80's are making a comeback and are making the most of the runways this season. Not to mention the 80's trend combines just about every other trend we've seen splash the runways of fashion week. Saint Laurent showcased a metallic mini dress with sharp shoulders on point with the statement sleeve trend we previously saw. Balenciaga mixed bright fun colors into their 80's look another trend sure to be making a colorful statement this year. Monse Spring's evening wear dress was decked out with sparkle and featured a tattered/edgy looking slit showing a little leg and an off the shoulder finish.
For me, the 80's can stay in the 80's.

What are your favorite trends this year?

H&M

H&M

Hello loves!

Spring is in the air and I couldn't be more thrilled!
What better way to welcome Spring to my blog than with a Spring fashion wish list highlighting one of my favorite stores, H&M.

Suede Loafers - Okay, I've never owned a pair of loafers before. But I've seen so many fashion bloggers rocking these recently obviously sparking my interest. Comfortable but still stylish and the pale pink coloring is to die for.

Khaki Skinny Jeans - Khaki has been blowing up the last couple years and I'd really enjoy something different from my usual black legging/skinny jeans

Floral Jumpsuit - I hope floral stays on trend because I truly love it and this jumpsuit is perfect for spring.

Bralette - I love lace, it can really make an outfit.

Fringe Sandals - With spring coming there's always a reason to purchase a new pair of sandals.

Dress - the cut out detailing on this is like nothing else I currently have in my wardrobe and I love wearing dresses, especially in spring.

Bomber Jacket - Honestly, I'm not sure how I'd style this but I've always admired bomber jackets and the quilting on the sleeves makes it a little more special.

Ankle boots - I'm in dire need of a new pair of boots. Mine are all currently looking worse for wear.

Jumpsuit - Mint is one of my favorite colors and this jumpsuit screams summer to me.

What trends are you loving for Spring?

In the news: High Fashion? or Drug Promotion?

*please note: the images above are not mine. No copyright is intended.

Moschino's new "Capsule Collection" for Spring\Summer 2017 has sparked quite the controversy recently. The collection created by the Moschino deigner Jeremy Scott is full of items that are said to be glorifying drugs which you can see above. There is actually one bag from the collection that resembles a prescription pill bottle (the model is holding in first picture.) A Minneapolis based drug and alcohol counsellor Randy Anderson created a petition to have the collection removed from stores including Saks Fifth Avenue. Nordstrom has already removed the products from their shelves and their website due to the controversy and feedback of customers.

The collection is said to be glamourizing pill popping & promoting prescription drug use.

I was perusing the internet today and came across this story which sparked my interest. I've seen many controversial products on the internet long before this happened and never heard complaints, maybe because it was from lesser known brands?
I do however believe we live in a world where people are very impressionable and at very young ages where people really need to think before they do. I disagree with the message this line gives off but I don't know if it was intentional either. Moschino tried to defend the designs by stating that they never intended to promote prescription drug use. That may or may not be true but they should have expected backlash from the general public when the United States is in a drug epidemic, worse than they've seen in years.  Jeremy Scott is not new to controversy in the fashion scene but maybe this time he's gone too far?

 I really want to know your thoughts on the manner?
I myself signed the petition and will leave the link below for anyone else who would like to.

Do you think Moschino intended to promote drug use?
Should it be pulled from stores?

2015 Spring Fashion Week Trends

Statement lips, bold and not so bold eyeliner, pops of colour, smokey eyes (a smokey eye will never go out of style) and even the bare minimum is what took over this years runways for Spring's 2015 Fashion Week!

There wasn't a definite trend with eyeliner as it went from none - simple - dramatic, from pictures it looked as if almost every designer had their own idea of what should be done with the eyeliner, the colour trend popped out in a lot of different shows.

(Saint Laurent)

Bold Lips

I'm not sure if I've made it clear on this blog but I am a lipstick slave, I will rarely leave the house to go do something without something on my lips, I own a ridiculous amount probably more than I will ever use but hey, you can never have enough different lip colours right? So I absolutely LOVED seeing the bright and bold or the dramatic and dark lips.

(Zac Posen)

(Number 21)

(Missoni)

(Dolce & Gabanna - Kendall Jenner, one of my style icons, I adore her)

COLOR POP

I loved seeing the different ways colour was being used on the eyes, the creativity behind these shows and the make up artists is truly amazing and I only dream to get a glimpse one day. There was a lot of blue used I noticed while looking through photos and purples, I am not a fan of purple because I have yet to master the look it not looking bruised...

(Honor)

(Max Mara)

ALMOST NAKED

The au naturel look, bare minimum. I think this will always be a trend during spring and summer just as the smokey eye will always be a trend.

(Tory Burch)

My favourite was definitely the pops of colour, it gave me a lot of inspiration. Let me know which one you guys love in the comments!
