Shoe Dazzle - DIY

Hello everyone!
I'm going to share a fun D.I.Y. I found while perusing Pinterest the other day.

Who doesn't love glitter?
My last DIY post was ages ago and also included...GLITTER!

What you will need:
  1. Mod Podge (I made my own) - How To
  2.  Heels (I used an old pair that I don't wear too much anymore, as I didn't want to chance wrecking a new pair)
  3. Glitter
  4. Paint Brush
  5. Newspaper (any paper will work, just makes it easier to clean up)

{The beginning}

Mix some Mod Podge with the loose glitter in a small jar of sorts using a paint brush.

Lightly paint on a layer of the mixture on to the soles of the shoes using the same paintbrush you used to mix it with.

Then using a dry paint brush pat an even layer on using ONLY the loose glitter. I just sprinkled some on the soles and lightly patted it in creating a nice even layer.
Let them dry, then apply the final layer of Mod Podge.

There you have it!
A old pair of shoes, spiced up with some glittery soles.

This was an extremely easy DIY and jazzed up an otherwise normal pair of shoes.

What do you guys think, have you tried a DIY like this?

{NOTD}

Hey everyone!

Wanted to share a quick little "Nails of the day"
For this I used E.L.F.s Flirty Fuschia as my base and for the glitter I used a Mariposa dollar store polish, don't knock em till you try em.

I know they aren't the neatest but I still wanted to show you.

{NOTD}

Hey guys, I have just been completely neglecting so many things lately my blog being one of them.
I've been having a rough go lately and just could not draw inspiration from anywhere still actually having a difficult time so this will be just a quick post unfortunately. I'm so sorry I will get back into the swing of things I promise.

I haven't painted my nails in ages and all of a sudden last night I thought hmm...I should paint my nails and here we are!
I used E.l.f.s polish in "Nude" as my base (two coats) and for my accent nail I used just a dollar store glitter polish that I mentioned in a previous post. I really like nude polish as I think it can be work year round and works on almost all skin tones this one is a very pink nude but I still could see it working for varying skin tones.

I've been having a lot of trouble lately growing my nails as they get to a certain length and ALWAYS seem to break or tear and it's really frustrating so if anyone has any product recommendations to strengthen/grow nails I would really appreciate it if you left them in the comments below.

The next post isn't far away, I just have a few things I need to get together ;)

Dollar Store Diamonds

Hey everyone!

It's been a while due to the Holidays and such. I hope all of you had excellent holidays and stuffed your face with as much food as possible because I know I did.

I feel like people completely underestimate dollar stores I mean really underestimate. For example Dollarama sells brand name items like Essie and Dove soap and cleaning supplies like Lysol all for much cheaper than you could even find them at Wal Mart yet so many of us just don't want to shop at a dollar store well let me say this if you are one of those people you are missing out big time..here's why....

Last Christmas I got a Mariposa nail polish set {all glitter polishes} and as you may be able to tell from my above rant they are from....you guessed it, Dollarama!

By far the best glitter nail polish I have come across. There were six and I've used three and all have performed equally well. I used the gold polish for this post but previously tried a light pale blue and a more royal blue (love both wore them over a white base coat) I did not use a base or a top coat for this. The above took three coats to complete but is completely opaque. Most glitter based polish does not dry fast or at all even but one coat of this dried in about a minute which made it seem like doing my nails wasn't a chore! I've had this on for four days and not ONE chip. Don't underestimate the dollar store you guys there are some diamond products hidden inside! The only thing I didn't like and it was just a personal preference, was that I don't feel the colour suits me I feel like it washed me out. Can nail polish even do that?  Other than that five stars all around for this gem.

Do you shop at the dollar store and have you ever found any wonderful products?

NOTD

Hello loves!

Here are my nails of the day. I used Essie's "After School Boy Blazer" as the base and Sephora's "Party Animal" as the glitter top coat and then to finish it all off I used a Revlon Top Coat.

Sephora's Party Animal is a great glitter polish and I never have many good things to say about glitter polishes but this one dried so quick where as the MANY others I've tried never seem to dry and then when you go to put a top coat on you just end up creating a smudged disaster but with Party Animal I had no problems what so ever.

I absolutely love glitter over dark bases and will continue to wear my nails like this throughout most of fall and winter.

=)

A little DIY - throw some glitter in your life

Hey guys, I know it's been a little bit but I'm back with a super easy DIY project for you all!

Who else loves glitter?
Yes it's a disaster to work with because of the mess but look how cute these wine glasses are!

What you need:
  1. Mod Podge (I did make my own water based mod podge)How To
  2. paint brush
  3. Glitter
  4. plastic bags
  5. tape
  6. and of course wine glasses

Steps:
  1. Make sure your glasses are clean!
  2. Wrap a plastic bag over the top of the glass and tape around the stem
  3. Using a paint brush, cover the bottom of the class in Mod Podge
  4. Sprinkle the glitter over the glass (tbh guys, I poured mine all over then shook it off which actually gave it a nice even finish)
  5. Let it dry!
  6. I didn't do this yet but to make it last and washable use a clear coat spray on top

and there you go SUPER EASY and fast DIY, this didn't even take me an hour to do, would be great to dress up a holiday party or any party for that matter

Hope you guys enjoy! =)

NOTD

Hello everyone, just a short post and a quick review on the e.l.f polish in "Chic Confetti"
I wanted to try something new with my nails aside from painting them one solid color so I used H&M's polish in "Chill Out" for my base and E.l.f.s "Chic Confetti" to do the bottom area in glitter which is how my thumbs were supposed to look as well but I made a mistake and ended up fixing it by painting the whole nail in glitter. Oops.

Chic Confetti is the best glitter polish I've used yet I got it in the bright nail polish cube ($14 CAD) by E.l.f. because of E.l.f.s prices I didn't expect much but it dries super quick  and actually creates a pretty even coat compared to some other glitter polishes I've tried.

I haven't tried to remove yet so maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be a breeze to remove!
