Loreal Hydra Genius

Good morning loves!
It's been a minute and I'm sorry. I've been stuck in a blogging rut and although I've had tons of empties sitting around waiting to be reviewed I just couldn't find the motivation to do so until today!

Time and time again I've mentioned how dry my skin is. It's horrible! Truthfully, I'd love to have oily skin. I'm always hunting down new products that promise non stop moisture. Call in Loreal's Day and Night Hydra Genius face cream. It promises 72 HR hydration!
It's priced at $25 CAD and can be found in most Shopper's Drug Marts. It's packaged in a sturdy glass jar giving it more of a luxurious feel. The cream inside is nice and cooling as you rub it in the skin and as it soaks in it does make the skin feel more plumped with moisture, 72 hours worth though?  No, definitely not.
Overall, a good value for your money, it plumps the skin and although it doesn't last the forecasted 72 hours if use this day and night you will find it helps retain your skin's moisture. I'd buy it again but am still searching for something with more hydration.

What do you use to retain moisture?

Living Proof - Thickening Cream

Hello loves.

Let's try to move on from the sadness of yesterday's post.
 Let's talk hair.
I despise my hair, not only is it thin but fine too. Two negatives against me. It won't hold a curl to save my life or any style really for that matter.
A co-worker gifted this to me and I've never used Living Proof products before but I've heard good things so I was excited to give this a go!
The excitement ended after about the first two weeks of use, a fair trial if you ask me. I use this every time I shower (about 2-3X a week)
There has been zero change, it doesn't look or feel thicker. I don't think it's done anything honestly and I'm certainly happy I didn't buy it.
 Just another let down in the world of products promising to give you thicker, fuller locks.

Has anyone tried a thickening product that WORKS?

Death & How to Cope

Good morning loves.

It is with an extremely heavy heart to tell you all I had another passing in my family. My step dad who was more of a father to me than anyone has ever been passed away Tuesday night. This is the third person in my family I've lost in a year. Going through so much in the past year has taught me how to cope with loss which is what I want to talk about today.

Coping with the loss of a loved one is incredibly difficult and some days it feels impossible to go on.
Here's my list of whats helped me get through the past year.

1. Music - I know this is a big one for many people. I don't know what it is but if you find a song that describes your current situation even though it may make you cry at the same time it makes you feel better knowing other people go through the same sorts of things.

2. Read a book - this helps keep the mind occupied on something else and can help you escape the sadness for a little while.

3. Spend time with loved ones. You're all going through the same thing be there for each other. Talk about all the good times you had, share the laughs. Don't dwell on how sad things are.

4. Go for a walk. Being outside in the fresh air really does help. I don't know why but get those bodies moving I promise you if only for a while you'll feel a little better.

Those are the things I've been doing to help myself and we all have different ways of coping but most importantly talk to someone don't try to get through it alone.

How do you cope with death?

Top 5 - Lips {Pink Edition}

{left to right: Bite Beauty Eclair, Kat Von D's Mother, MAC Impassioned, Too Faced Melted Peony, ABH Doll Party}

Hello loves.
 I've done a lot of these top 5 lip posts but I enjoy writing them and I hope you guys enjoy reading them. I don't wear a lot of pinks, red is my go to as you all know but when I'm choosing a pink here are my top picks!

Bite Beauty Liquid Lip in Eclair - The Bite Liquid lipsticks have a great formula and amazing pigmentation. They aren't completely matte though so they can slip and slide outside the lip line. I either use my Bite lip primer or a lip liner to help stop the bleeding. I don't notice it so much with this shade but with the shade Flambe (a bright, vibrant red) it happens a lot.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lip in Mother - I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of Kat Von D as a person but she makes incredible makeup. Her liquid lips are pigmented and long wearing. The downside to these is they are drying, probably one of most drying formulas I've ever used.

MAC Impassioned - I love the bright vibrancy of this lip! But in all honesty it would look much better on someone with whiter teeth. That won't keep me from wearing it though! It's a terrific summer shade!

Too Faced Melted Peony - If you love the color of this and are looking for a dupe the Maybelline Color Jolt in "Never Bare" is almost identical. I coudln't find the color jolts online though so I'm not sure if they're still selling them. It's a nice subtle but still bright pink. Again, a perfect summer lip.

ABH Lip Gloss in Doll Party - I usually hate gloss but the ABH ones are not sticky or goopy and are so extremely pigmented. I'd almost call these a liquid lip. This one is a fun and spunky pink!

What's your favorite pink lip?
