{NOTD} // Musical Monday

Habits - Tove Lo

Hey everyone.
I don't know about you guys but I had quite the Monday that started off terribly at 6:30 this morning and honestly hasn't got much better. I hope everyone had a better day than me!
I've always really liked this song and I'm not in a great spot in my relationship at the moment and this in a way this is how I'm feeling - minus the getting high part of course. But I've got some tough decisions to make...

I also wanted to share a quick little Nails of the Day, nothing super fancy but thought why the hell not?

e.l.f cosmetics - Banana Split and a glitter top coat from the dollar store (it's garbage it's already peeling off)

Until next time...

e.l.f. - Skinny Jeans

Hey loves!

Quick post today about e.l.f.s nail polish in "Skinny Jeans"

I adore this color the blue is amazing! Should I mention this was only ONE coat?! Pretty impressive for a $1 nail polish. A few hours after I  painted them however it had chipped already but I'm not surprised there, it doesn't bother me too much as I am one to paint their nails a different color almost everyday haha and yes I did use a top coat! I would buy this again just because I love love love the color!

This nail polish was a part of e.l.f.s brights nail polish cube which retails for $14 CAD

What's dressing your nails?

Sally Hansen - Black Out {hard as xtreme wear}

The other day I began to do my nails and then realized there was not enough in the bottle for both hands! So off I went to the drugstore and in small town Alberta it seems black is a hard to find color, haha.

The only non sparkly black I could find was Sally Hansens hard as xtreme nail wear in "black out."

First thing I love about it it's only $3.49 CAD and it's decent quality, I've bought more expensive polishes that have chipped immediately after applying.

It's been three days and there is only minimal chipping at the tips. I did have to use two coats though which is a little frustrating when I buy black polish of like the pigmentation to be much better. The formula is nice, smooth and easy to use.

A great cheap polish for people on a budget.

Have you tried any of the Sally Hansen {hard as xtreme} nail polishes?

NYC - Imperial Red

Hey loves! What girl doesn't love red, especially on their nails.

The shade on my claws is NYC Imperial Red. NYC is a well known very cheap drugstore brand but cheap isn't always bad.

This nail polish is not too shabby for a mere $1.99 actually at that price it's a fabulous bargain. The photo above is only one coat, super opaque! You could use two but it's not needed. No it doesn't have the lasting power but I have yet to find a polish that doesn't chip within three days so I'm not going to gripe too much about that. If anyone though can tell me about a polish that's forever lasting, please let me know! The fact you only need to use one coat on each hand makes painting your nails so much less of a chore plus they dry in a minute, I am not joking. Try it out and prove me wrong.

The NYC line of polishes is probably the best bargain you will ever find in the ever expanding beauty world!

NOTD

Hello everyone, just a short post and a quick review on the e.l.f polish in "Chic Confetti"
I wanted to try something new with my nails aside from painting them one solid color so I used H&M's polish in "Chill Out" for my base and E.l.f.s "Chic Confetti" to do the bottom area in glitter which is how my thumbs were supposed to look as well but I made a mistake and ended up fixing it by painting the whole nail in glitter. Oops.

Chic Confetti is the best glitter polish I've used yet I got it in the bright nail polish cube ($14 CAD) by E.l.f. because of E.l.f.s prices I didn't expect much but it dries super quick  and actually creates a pretty even coat compared to some other glitter polishes I've tried.

I haven't tried to remove yet so maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be a breeze to remove!

Sephora Pole Dance

Hello everyone! today I’d like to review yet another Sephora polish, it is from the same kit as the other three or two I’ve reviewed (there are ten polishes in the kit) This is one is a bright red and is named “Pole Dance”

I feel the polish is true to the color in the bottle and it has an amazing color payoff. I only used two coats to achieve this. Excuse my out of focus thumb, haha. It has chipped already but only on one nail. For the price of the whole kit which was $33 I highly recommend this. I’ve only tried about four out of the ten and so far I’ve only been disappointed with one which happens to be sugar coated which is the first polish in the above photo. All in all, I’m very impressed with Pole Dance!

Chill Out!

Hello everyone, it’s been a bit since I’ve actually posted instead of reblogging. I just wanted to do a quick review of H&M’s nail polish in Chill Out. These retail for $5.95 in Canadian H&M stores, so less than most drug store polishes. The color pay off on this polish is amazing, you only need one coat I like using two though. The polish glides on effortlessly and dries quite fast. It doesn’t last longer than any other polish, tends to chip at about the three day mark. Overall a fantastic polish for the price!
Until next time!

Sugar Coated

Hello everyone, as you know I did a review about the Happy Hour nail polish from the Sephora collection which I adored and actually am currently wearing on my nails! I said I would review the rest so here's review #2. Sugar Coated is a very light pink, its far too light to only do with one coat of polish.

This color was nowhere near to the perfection of happy hour. After the first coat I had to wait about five minutes to apply another, you have to apply about three coats to get an even decent color payoff. Even after waiting for each coat to dry, the polish still gets clumpy at the lightest touch. The pictures below are with a top coat as well....
Overall I'm very disappointed in this color.

It's time for Happy Hour!

Hey everyone!
I'm sorry for my lack of posting lately, I've got some personal issues I'm working on right now so it's been a difficult week. I recently purchased a pack of ten nail polishes (All 5 ml) from Sephora. To be honest the real reason I bought it was that it was only thirty three dollars which is a steal from anywhere really. I've yet to try all ten colors but the one I did try was Happy Hour! which is an exclusive shade.

It's a very bright blue I would say. I love this nail polish more than any I have tried, not necessarily the color of this one but this has been on for almost a week and hasn't chipped at all which for an nail polish is amazing, I did use a top coat but regardless I couldn't be more impressed with this. The color is extremely pigmented this was only about two coats of polish. I'm very anxious to try the other nine colors and will be posting some photos of the other ones. I would have took a photo of the whole set but unfortunately my camera died, sorry everyone.

Bye!
