Too Faced Sweet Peach

Everyone and their mother raves about this palette and with good reason.

Too Faced's Sweet Peach Palette was originally released as a limited edition palette in the summer of 2016 and sold out within minutes, proving almost impossible to get your hands on. Then came Christmas of 2016 and it was re-released. Don't quote me on this but I believe it's part of Too Faced's permanent collection now. I was unable to pick this up during the initial release but when it rolled out at Christmas I was one of the first at Sephora.

The palette encases 18 different shades in a variety of finishes, ranging from matte's to shimmers and a couple of shades that had some more chunky flecks of glitter.

1st row {left to right: White Peach, Luscious, Just Peachy, Bless Her Heart, Tempting & Charmed I'm Sure}

2nd Row {left to right - Nectar, Cobbler, Candied Peach, Bellini, Peach Pit & Delectable}

Last Row {left to right: Peaches N' Cream, Georgia, Caramelized, Puree, Summer Yum &  Talk Derby To Me}

There's only two shades that had big chunks of glitter, those being Candied Peach & Talk Derby To Me. When used on the eyes though I don't find Candied Peach to be as glittery as it is when swatched. I can't say the same for Talk Derby To Me though because I haven't used that shade yet.

I adore the color scheme of this palette and I like how it's mostly neutral with a few pops of color thrown in like the purple and the unique olive green shade. I've been using this a lot recently and the colors all blend extremely well and don't turn into a muddled looking mess like some cheaper eye shadows can do. I've never had problems with creasing or fading with any of the shades, mind you I do always use a primer but sometimes shadows still crease with a primer.
Did I mention this smells like peaches? The scent can be overwhelming so be warned if you have a a sensitive sense of smell. Luckily though you can't smell it once it's applied!

My favorite shadows in this palette are Luscious, Candied Peach & Caramelized. I love this palette and am so glad I got my hands on it!

What are your thoughts?

Loreal Collagen Micro-Pulse

Hey loves!

I'm twenty three now, almost twenty four and due to my desert dry skin I've noticed lines under my eyes and darker circles. (Gasp)
Naturally I've been on the hunt for a decent eye cream. The last one I tried was the Nivea DNAge Eye Cream, see my review here.

When I saw this my immediate thought was that's a gimmicky product. It's the Loreal Collagen Micro Pulse, two step system.
Step one is an eye cream and step two is a micro pulser you use after applying the cream.

I'll be honest I bought it because I was on sale and even though it screamed gimmick to me I was still intrigued.

The outcome, it did absolutely nothing and I'm over joyed I didn't pay full price for it. The cream itself is far too light and sinks in immediately still leaving my under eyes crying for moisture. It did nothing in the ways of brightening my dark circles or helping with the subtle lines that have appeared in the recent year. The vibrator did nothing either and actually stopped working all together within a week. I have nothing positive to say about this product, I've never been more disappointed in something.

Loreal please discontinue this.

Please leave me recommendations for eye creams below, what do you use?

Who To Read

Hello loves!

I shared some of my favorite YouTubers earlier in the month and I thought why not showcase some of my favorite blogs to read as well.

Beky Lou - I've followed Beky for a long time and I love her posts. She has a fantastic mix of lifestyle, beauty & fashion and she just announced some exciting news over on her blog!

Violet Daffodils - Kate is a lovely human. Her posts are well thought out and she was the first person to start commenting on my posts which means a lot to me.

All Things Beautiful - I only recently started reading Jessies blog but she's so down to earth and I really enjoy her lifestyle posts and outfit posts. (She has a wicked sense of style)

Lua - Le-Happy - Lua was the first fashion blogger whose style I truly fell for. She can rock a grunge look like no other. On the opposite side of the spectrum her formal looks are outstanding. Her mixture of styles is what really intrigued me about her and I've been following her for a long time.

TRENDING: White Ankle Boots

At the beginning of the month I wrote a post on the new & upcoming trends for SS17.
Well, turns out I missed one that I'm really excited for, white ankle boots!
Now, I love black. Yesterday, I honestly wore ALL BLACK down to my socks. Black boots are the easiest things to style as they go with everything and still look great.

The 80's may be on their way back but this is trend is stepping right out of the 60's.

I wanted to share my favorite white booties with you all!

TRENDING

Balenciaga - If you didn't notice most of the boots I featured here all have chunky heels and more rounded toes which I why I chose to add these Balenciaga ones. The sharp stiletto heel and pointed toe really give them an edge.

Marc Jacobs - I like that these are cream colored instead of your standard stark white.

Proenza Schouler - This pair of boots with the color blocking really give me some serious 60's vibes.

Acne Studios - The statement heel on these is what gives them their edge. It would definitely draw attention and give your outfit a little oopmh.

Those are some of my favorite boots, even though I can't afford them a girl can dream right?

Are you going to be rocking white boots this upcoming season?

MAC - Velvet Teddy (The Perfect Nude)

MAC's Velvet Teddy, one of the most popular and hyped lipsticks of all time. Thanks in part to Kylie Jenner and her 90's lip.

This had been on my to buy list for a long time before I finally caved in and purchased it.
On a lot of people the swatches I'd seen leaned much more towards the brown spectrum in terms of color but on me it leans very pink.

In terms of application this is the creamiest matte texture I've ever felt but that only lasts a few minutes then it dries down to an extremely matte finish and can leave the lips parched so I highly recommend applying a balm underneath.

This is quite perfectly my definition of a perfect nude. Great pigmentation (always expected from MAC) amazing lasting power and although not cheap, it's not as expensive as the likes of YSL and other luxury brands.

If you are still searching for your holy grail nude I highly recommend checking this out.

What's your favorite nude?

TOP 3 - Eyeshadow Palettes

Hello loves!

I wanted to share my Top 3 eye shadow palettes (for the moment). We all love eye shadow and I love seeing what palettes other people love so I thought why not share my current favorites.

ABH Modern Renaissance - This was my favorite palette not just for this moment but of 2016. The color scheme is romantic and can create so many different looks. The shades albeit being powdery are pigmented and blend out gorgeously. I've yet to try an Anastasia product that I was disappointed in. If you haven't tried this it is part of her permanent range and I highly suggest you pick it up if you're a lover of these shades. I can't ever recall seeing a negative review for this beauty.

Too Faced's Sweet Peach - I'm so glad they re-released this because I was never able to pick it up the first time around. The smell is strong and smells more like chemicals than peaches to me. It's so sweet that it almost makes me nauseous. I can look past this though because again the colors in this are gorgeous, pigmented and blend well. My favorite shade would be Luscious and I love the added pop of green and purple giving it some added color to an otherwise neutral toned palette.

Kat Von D Metal Matte (No longer available) - I couldn't get a decent shot of this this morning to save my life even though I had no problems with the other two. Besides that this was a limited edition palette that was released this past Christmas and I'm so happy I got my hands on it. It was quite expensive but Kat's shadows are wonderful. There are a few in here that don't blend as well as the others but overall they are great. Be warned though they are very pigmented so be sure to use a light hand. The shimmers are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Ignite, Twinkle and Tinsel are my favorites.

What is your current favorite palette?

OOTD - Black Soul

Good morning lovely people!

Spring means ditching the tights and layers! It's supposed to be a beautiful day here in my little town so I pulled out my maxi skirt from the depths of my closet.

I said I was going to start doing more fashion related posts and I'm holding to it. Albeit this outfit being simple I love the casual laid back vibe. Maxi skirts are great staples for spring/summer and are a basic item that everyone should have at least one of.

Details:

Jacket - H&M

Shirt - Tommy Hilfiger (I've had this shirt for ages but I love it, the fabric is extremely soft and light weight)

Necklaces/Belt/Maxi Skirt - Forever 21

People love to hate on Forever 21, yes they're cheap but the clothes are always on trend and if you're on a budget they're a great alternative to some other high end brands. The quality though does reflect the price but for basics like the skirt I really don't mind that.

I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I do.

TOPSHOP wishlist

TOPSHOP wishlist

 Hello everyone.

I hope you guys enjoy these wish list posts. Being an adult means a lot of bills and car troubles which means frivolous purchases get put on hold.

I'm such a nosey bugger so I personally love these types of posts to see what others are eyeing up in the shops. Today I wanted to feature a store that's only been in Canada for the past few years. That store is no other than TOPSHOP  which I believe originated in the United Kingdom.

I love clothing far more than I love makeup although that may be difficult to tell from the lack of fashion posts on my blog. That's going to change, I'll still do my beauty but I really do want to bring more fashion related posts into my little space and I hope you guys will enjoy the posts as much as I enjoy creating them!

On to the wish list then...

Moto Shorts - I love the stud detailing on these bad boys they make them much more edgy than if they were just a pair of plain black shorts.

Embroidered Boots - These are just stunning and as much as I adore the embroidered boots, I've yet to purchase myself a pair.

Bag - Honestly guys, I'm in dire need of a new bag. Something not black for once. I don't think I've ever owned a bag that wasn't black.

Criss Cross Top - I've always shyed away from these types of tops because of my lack of boobs but honestly I shouldn't care. I'm sure I can pull it off as well as any other out there!

Court Shoes -  A girl can always use a new pair of shoes. {especially if you work in the office like myself}

Lace Up Velvet Dress - Velvet is all I can say. I love anything velvet.

White Ripped Joni Jeans - I love the look of white jeans and I think it can add something to an outfit that a normal pair of blue denim jeans can't {can I keep them clean is the real question}

Tassel Necklace - I'm not the type of person to buy expensive jewelry. I'm so careless with it so the cheaper the better I say and I love this tassel one.

Let me know if you guys like this post and what you're currently wishing for?

OOTD - Lace Lover

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I last posted an OOTD due to me wearing the same outfits over and over for work.
While I do love makeup, fashion is what holds my heart and I missed showcasing that so I wanted to bring back some style to my blog.
I wear this dungaree dress all the time but usually paired with something plain and simple. Today I switched it up and threw on a sweater with lace detailing on the arms to give it a little edge with a belt around the waist to add some shape. Everything in this look is second hand, who says thrifted clothes aren't cute?

Do you guys enjoy these posts?

Garnier Micellar Water

Hello everyone!
It snowed in my tiny little town yesterday and is forecasting snow again this weekend. What happened to spring?

I'm a bit late to the party on this but about two years ago micellar waters blew up the world of beauty & skincare. Bioderma was the first one I saw appear on the scene followed by many other brands with more affordable versions. I'd seen this Garnier one splashed across many blogs and YouTube channels comparing it to the Bioderma one, some even claiming this one was better.

I've not tried the Bioderma one but after giving this one a shot I think I will. This didn't blow my mind by any means. I wouldn't recommend using this alone to remove your makeup but it's a nice added step to give your skin a thorough cleaning. I use this on my eyes first to get the majority of my eye makeup off as it doesn't sting or burn around the eyes like a lot of cleansers do {or at least the one I'm currently using}. Then I go in with my cleanser to make sure all the makeup and dirt has been removed and I follow up with my night moisturizer.

Micellar Waters are an interesting concept and are great for those with sensitive skin. I'm interested in trying different brands to see if there is any major differences.

What do you think of Micellar Waters?

Spring 2017 - Trend Report

New season, new fashion.
For 2017 there are some new trends stepping on to the scene and some that are making their way back. Let's take a look! {please note - these images are not mine, credit goes to their respectful owners)

Statement Sleeves

{left to right - Jacquemus, Saint Laurent, Mugler}

Statement sleeves are everywhere and have been for some time. I probably noticed statement sleeves beginning to pop up last summer and they're steadily gaining popularity and currently flooding my Instagram feed. I love the ruffles of the sleeves for the Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2017 runway. Saint Laurent kept it quite simple compared to many other designers runway showcases this year but it's still effective with the sleeves being the most detailed part of the LBD (little black dress). Mugler's was one of my favorites. The design looks extremely futuristic and architectural making it really stand out on the runway. I'm not the biggest fan of statement sleeves and will be leaving this to the more bold & daring out there.

Oxford Shirts

A few years ago menswear for women was all the rage thanks to the beloved Olson twins.
Business chic is popping back on the scene thanks to the classic Oxford shirt.

{left to right - J. Crew, Rag & Bone, Off-White}

J.Crew worked the Oxford trend with an striped off the shoulder top pairing it with a gorgeous draped skirt giving it that feminine edge. Rag & Bone created a simple but edgy look using an oversized boyfriend fit oxford shirt. Alternatively you could take the Rag & Bone oversized look and instead of jeans throw a belt around the waist to give the body some shape and wear some chunky boots for an egdy but girly look. Off-White combined statement sleeves and oxford amalgamating two of Spring's hottest trends. I'd wear this as a more relaxed outfit maybe throwing some statement heels or layering some jewelry to create a more boho vibe.

Mini Bags

I don't know about anyone else but I tend to carry my life in my bag. The mini bag while cute isn't practical. I mean what could I carry in this? My wallet is bigger!

Western Wear

{left to right - Rodarte, Robert Cavalli & Alberta Ferretti}

I didn't expect to see western wear become a trend but I'm not disappointed. Although I couldn't picture myself pulling this off I sure admired the runway looks! I loved the cute simple dress from Alberta Ferretti with the layered western style belts. Rodartes fringed jacket is encrusted with diamonds! Talk about western infused glamour.

Color & 80's Throwback

 {left to right -  Saint Laurent, Balenciaga & Monse Spring}

You read it right. The 80's are making a comeback and are making the most of the runways this season. Not to mention the 80's trend combines just about every other trend we've seen splash the runways of fashion week. Saint Laurent showcased a metallic mini dress with sharp shoulders on point with the statement sleeve trend we previously saw. Balenciaga mixed bright fun colors into their 80's look another trend sure to be making a colorful statement this year. Monse Spring's evening wear dress was decked out with sparkle and featured a tattered/edgy looking slit showing a little leg and an off the shoulder finish.
For me, the 80's can stay in the 80's.

What are your favorite trends this year?
