Hard Candy Primer Mist

Hello loves!
I'm back and am going to try to keep my posts up to at least twice a week for all of you.

Back at it with another primer review. Lately I've been on a primer kick, trying to find that perfect one.

The Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer Mist is almost perfection in a bottle. It can be used as either a primer or setting spray. Currently, I've been using it as a primer but you can bet I'll test it out as a setting spray! Updates to come.
I like to use this by spraying the mist on my Real Techniques Sponge and then applying it to the skin. I find that the mist if sprayed directly on the face is too wet for my liking. While I didn't notice any extended wear time I did notice it helped with the foundation separation on my nose which I can't seem to stop no matter what I try (tips would be appreciated) so for that alone it gets some major bonus points. It claims to boost hydration for 12 hours, again I never keep my makeup on for that long so I can't attest to that. It certainly keeps my skin from feeling dry though which I haven't found with other primers and it smells like coconut. This retails for eight dollars CAD and for the price this can do no wrong. It keeps my skin hydrated and helps foundation separation in areas that I've always struggled with. Thank you Hard Candy for the affordable and wonderful product!

What's your favorite primer?

Collective Haul #1

Good morning everyone!
I hope you're all having a lovely Christmas with your friends & families.
I've been meaning to write this post for a while but with the holidays and what not my life's been busy. I had two dinners this weekend and was supposed to be at another one today but I don't think my body could handle any more food!

This is just a little collective haul from the past few months and a cheeky little Christmas present here and there.

I picked up a shirt from Urban Planet. It's a long sleeve shirt with a criss cross back in a mustard yellow color. It was on sale for only seven dollars!

I've been into Sephora more than I'd like to admit in the past month and never got my birthday gift back in June so with my last purchase I mentioned I never got it and they graciously gave it to me almost six months later. I chose the Tarte set as I haven't ever tried anything from the brand. The lip is in the shade Birthday Suit and is a perfect nude, the blush gives a subtle natural flush to the cheeks. On my Sephora trips I got the Urban Decay Naked Heat with my $15 off coupon and the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette. I looked for the Desert Dusk palette EVERYWHERE which of course was out of stock in every single Sephora in my city. Her Rose Gold palette though is amazing so I'm not disappointed in my purchase.

I decided to feature my two favorite gifts from my family.
The first being the Morphe Copper Spice palette and the second being an ELF contour palette & brush.
I've never tried anything from Morphe but have seen some gorgeous looks created with it so I can't wait to dig in and get those creative juices flowing. ELF for me has always been a hit or miss brand but the contour brush included in this is perfectly shaped and is incredibly soft. I will be sure to update you guys once I use it!

What did you guys get for Christmas?

ARITZIA #2

ARITZIA #2
Hello loves.

Forgive me for it's been so long. December is such a busy month, I haven't even finished Christmas shopping yet and it's right around the corner. *Gasps*

I've got two family dinners this weekend and an oil change this week and so many other things to do. I feel like my heads going to spin round till it falls off!

So, I wanted to pop in with a quick little wish list post. Featuring, Aritizia. I know I just made an Aritizia one not long ago but it is my favorite store. I hope you guys like these. I know I enjoy writing them and creating a curated wish list. The trend this year seems to be burgundy and gray.

Blanket Scarf -  In the winter, I live in scarves and I honestly don't think there's such a thing as too many.

Bodysuit - Perfect layering pieces for the colder weather.

Suede Skirt - Just because its winter doesn't mean I stop wearing skirts or dresses. They're so easy to wear in the office.

Slip Dress - This dress, reminds me of a night gown if I'm honest. At the same time thought its also what's drawing me in to it.

Turtleneck Dress - For a Canadian you think I would own more items that keep my neck warm. Well you're wrong, I don't think I own even one turtleneck. Why not start with a turtleneck dress?

Lace Blouse -  Party perfection really

Skirt - I just don't feel like I own enough skirts.

Turtleneck - I'm severely lacking in winter wardrobe pieces.

What do you need for your winter wardrobe?

KVD Everlasting Liquid Lip Collection

  {left to right: Lolita II, Mother & Outlaw}

Hello loves!
Has anyone lost one of their favorite lipsticks? Well, this recently happened to me with Lolita. I used to own the original and of course I went out one night and it was never to be seen again.

Although I don't have a large KVD lip collection her formula and colors are some of my favorites. You can bet that this obsession will continue to build.

I only own three currently. I guess four if you count the Lolita I lost. Such a shame.

Lolita II - Though not as lovely as the original Lolita it's still a lovely color that wears well with multiple looks.

Mother - A gorgeous pink. This one happens to my least favorite of the three. Nothing against the formula though. I just tend to either gravitate more towards nudes or reds.

Outlaw - My absolute favorite. If you know me you know red is my signature color. This is the perfect cool toned red that looks great with my pale, ghastly skin!

Albeit, the KVD formula being quite drying her color range is impressive and anyone should be able to find a color that suits their needs. I can't wait to add more of these to my collection. I believe there were even new shades added to the range this year.

Who makes your favorite liquid lip?

#instaflawless

Good afternoon loves.
I hope you're all having a lovely weekend.
Rimmel released their Insta collection a while back but I never bothered picking anything up. I've been wanting to try a cream contour for a while now but didn't want to go buying an expensive palette until I tried it out.
While browsing needlessly in Shopper's I spotted this little compact on sale. I'd read previous reviews on it and they weren't great but it was only eight dollars so I figured there was no harm in trying.
I got mine in 010 - Light.

Sleek and compact the packaging includes a photo on the back showing where to use the products which is handy for beginners in makeup or cream contouring like me.

 {left to right - Highlight, Concealer & Contour}

Easy to use, the products are extremely creamy and blend out easily on top of foundation. I'm not a fan of the highlight shade as it's matte and I love a blinding highlight. The highlight almost acts as more of an illuminating concealer. The concealer was creamy and easy to build up. I use it on my under eyes and have had minimal issues with it creasing. I saw another reviewer saying it clung to dry patches but I haven't noticed it on my skin and as my readers know I have extremely dry skin.
The contour shade is a tad too orange but it does blend out nicely. Bbeing fair skinned if a shade is too orange it  tends to make the face look muddy. Due to that I do have to be careful when applying.

It's a handy, compact palette that is great for on the run or traveling. Having tried this I am hoping to try out some other cream contour products to see how I get along with them.

What's your favorite way to contour?

NOTD - Sephora {Spread The Word}

I swear, I'll never get the hang of painting my nails.
But, I can't be bothered with fakes although they look stunning and I'd love to try out a marble set. Maybe during summer, we'll see.

Sephora's Spread the Word is a bright fuchsia, more of a summer color but it's okay to break the rules sometimes right?
This polish has a wide brush making it easy to coat the nail in one swipe. Opaque this color only needs one coat in all honesty but I always apply two no matter what I'm wearing. We're on the third day with only minimal chipping around the nail bed, not bad! Comparing to Essie which usually ends up chipping before the end of the first day. Not to mention, I didn't use a base or top coat with this.
I think the Sephora brand has a lot of gems. Their nail polish has a great formula, opaque color and smooth application for a decent price.

What's your favorite polish brand?

PORES BE PURE

 Happy hump day everyone!
The middle of the week, only a few more days and we're home free for the weekend.
Lately, I've been feeling like I needed something extra in my skin care routine.
Introducing the Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure face mask.

I have a love/hate relationship with masks. If I find one I like I'll use it consistently until the products gone and then it'll be another three to four months before I pick up a new one. I haven't found yet that really wows me but the hunt continues.

I'll start with this, if you are sensitive to scents you will hate it. It's strongly scented. Being infused with strawberry extract it smells like, you guessed it berries! I love the scent and how it lingers as the mask drys.
To use, you apply a thin layer on the face & neck and leave it for about 10-15 minutes. I leave it for 15 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water.
Being a clay mask it will dry out your skin. That's easily solved with a moisturizer. For a clay mask I expected it to dry my skin out more harshly than it did. Compared to other clay masks I've used in the past this was minimally drying. It left my face feeling incredibly smooth and has in the most subtle way minimized some of the texture on my skin. Other than that I haven't seen outstanding results but for the price it's great to pick up if you need a pamper night.

What's your favorite mask?

*Biolage - Live Raw

Good morning loves.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday. I had to drag myself out of bed this morning after about three of my alarms went off.

A while back Biolage and Peersway sent me two products from their new "Live Raw" range.
I was not required to write a blog post but decided to anyways.

I received their Texturizing Styling Spray & the Smoothing Styling Milk.
The Live Raw products are created with 98% -99% natural origins and don't contain parabens, silicones, artifical colors or fragrances. Organic ingredients for happy, healthy hair.

Texturizing Spray -  Infused with Matcha green tea this is supposed to give hair 24 hour volume with a soft touchable texture. I have flat, fine and overall lifeless hair to be honest so texturizing sprays never do anything for me. I wish I could say I had a great experience with this but unfortunately products like this do nothing for me. It's far better suited with people who have naturally thick and wavy hair.

Styling Milk - The styling milk is infused with oat and honey. I had far more success with this then the aforementioned product. You rub it in your damp hair after showering but before blow drying. I don't usually blow dry my hair as I like to use as little heat as possible on my hair. For the sake of the blog though I gave it a shot. I used more on my ends than near my scalp and after drying my hair was silky soft and a lot more manageable! My fine hair takes all of a second to tangle itself in to multiple knots so this helped keep it at bay.

What do you use to make your hair more manageable?

Aritzia Wishlist #1

Aritzia

Oh hello loves.

With Christmas lingering just around the corner I'm on a bit of a spending ban. I don't know why but I love to torture myself. When I put myself on a spending ban I proceed to peruse my favorite websites/clothing retailers to see what I would like to purchase in the future.

Aritzia is a Canadian born brand that was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia.
I adore Aritzia but their price tags are not always budget friendly. My family gifts me an Aritzia gift card every Christmas so why not start the wish list early?

Talula Cardigan - I bought one extremely similar to this last year in white and it's honestly one of the warmest sweaters I've ever owned albeit being a tad itchy from the wool.

Wilfred Sweater -  The scallop hem on this is what caught my eye. It makes it stand out among a sea of regular sweaters. I like that it's cropped as it would pair great with some high waisted pants.

TNA Shirt - This is more of a I just need some warmer winter wear.

Wilfred Sweater - They have this in a gorgeous baby blue color which I love. Again, I really am lacking in the winter sweater department.

Bodysuit - I know, body suits are inconvenient for a lot of things but they really can add some extra dimension to an outfit and are great for layering.

Plaid Shirt - Plaid, the classic staple that everyone needs at least one of, or ten.

Pom Pom Hat - Beanies are perfect for winter or if you're having a bad hair day.

There you have it the items I'm currently lusting after. I seriously need to begin building a better winter wardrobe.

What is your favorite store?

TOPSHOP Wishlist #2

TOPSHOP

Topshop, I'm so happy you finally have a stand alone store in Alberta. Oh, how long I've waited.

I think European stores have such gorgeous and different pieces from what's on the market in most of the Canadian/American stores. Zara & Topshop being two of those. Topshop recently (three years ago) opened a stand alone store in Chinook Centre and I coudln't have been more excited. Albeit being in there numerous times I've yet to purchase much. Hence my second Topshop wish list!

Suede Boots  - These boots while simple still have the ability to make an outfit. I honestly don't know if there's such a thing as too many pairs of boots.\

Plaid Peplum - Okay, so I adore the look of peplum tops yet....I own none? Maybe it's time I tried out a new style on myself.

Sequin Bodycon - The instance I saw this my mind jumped to New Years Eve! Glitter is always appropriate on that night.

Cross Body Bag - I'm more of  carry my life in my bag kind of girl but sometimes having a smaller option around is handy.

Cropped Knit - I want to step out of my comfort zone and try wearing more daring items. I am quite body self conscious but I do think a cropped knit like this would look cute paired with my high waisted disco pants or anything high waisted really.

Embroidered Skirt - Embroidery is the trend I've yet to try and while I'd love to get my hands on some embroidered boots this skirt is calling my name.

What's your favorite store?

Vichy Quencing Mineral Mask

Hello loves.

Winter, the season of dry & dehydrated skin. For me winter only exacerbates my already problematic dry skin. I'm always looking for something to soothe the thirst my skin requires and it's a daunting task.

I actually spotted this mini mask from Vichy on my mom's vanity and noticed she hadn't been using it so naturally I asked her if I could have it.
It's the Quenching Mineral Mask from Vichy which is formulated for dry skin types.

It's unlike any mask I've used before, you pat it into your skin and let it sit for five minutes then you're to massage the excess in. I love the feel of this mask! As you apply it, it soothes & leaves a cooling effect on your skin which lasts as it soaks in. For me, even before the five minutes was up my skin had sucked in all the possible moisture it could obtain. It left me with little to no excess to rub in so I don't think it's quite heavy enough for me during these cold, dreary winter months. When summer comes you can bet I'll be purchasing a full size of this! The gel texture and cooling effect of this mask captured my attention, I definitely want to see what other skincare products Vichy has to offer.

What do you recommend from Vichy?

Lancome Creme Radiance Cleanser

Hello loves, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I wish I could say I'm one of those girls who lays about on the weekend in her sweats and a makeup free face but that's not the case. I love doing my makeup on the weekend as I work full time in an office. When the weekend rolls along I love to experiment with colors and different ways of doing my eye shadow to really get my creative juices flowing. It's the perfect time to sit down and take my time. If like me you constantly love looking done up you have to make sure you're taking care of your skin which is where the Lancome Creme Radiance cleanser comes into play.

My skin care routine could be better and I'm fully aware of that but for now here's what I do;
First, I use a makeup wipe to remove the majority of my face makeup. After that I go in with cleanser and a separate eye makeup remover (I wear heavy eye makeup on the daily). After all the makeup's been removed I go in with an eye cream (also Lancome) and a moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated.

The Creme Radiance is a cream to foam cleanser. As you rub it in it begins to foam up on the skin. It lathers well and removes makeup easily although I don't think it works well enough as a sole cleanser. It does not remove mascara well at all and stings the eye area which is why I've taken to using a separate method for my eyes. I've found most cream cleansers really dry my skin out but haven't had any issues with this, just be sure to follow up with some moisturizer!

I don't know if I want to continue using this. I'm going to keep my eyes open for cleansers that are created for helping dry skin as that's what I suffer with most.

What's your favorite cleanser?

H&M Wishlist

H&M

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since my last wish list post and Christmas is approaching quickly so what better time than now to create one?
*hint, hint family*

If you don't know already H&M is one of my favorite stores. Their clothes are affordable and great quality. I know a lot of people who think cheap means poorly made but I don't find that to be the case with H&M. So I created a mini wish list of some products I'm currently coveting.

H&M Beauty - I've seen countless posts about their latest addition, a beauty range. From what I've read the products sound excellent and for the price I'm definitely eyeing some things up for the next time I'm in store.

Satin Bomber -  To be honest, I've never owned a bomber jacket as I don't think I could pull it off. Still would like to see if I can style it for me in some way to make it work. The floral print on this would be perfect for the upcoming spring.

Biker Leggings -  Honestly you guys I live in leggings and I don't own a pair like these. How cute would these be paired with a cropped leather jacket and some ankle boots?

Skinny Jeans - Jeans are a staple even though personally I wear them rarely these days.

Turtleneck Sweater - Alberta's winters are some of the coldest, one day last year it was - 66 degrees Celsius. That's outrageous. For being a born and raised Albertan I'm not equipped well in the clothing department for winter and turtlenecks are great for keeping warm.

What are you guys coveting?

Drugstore Diamonds - Loreal Infalliable Shadows

{left to right: Endless Choclat, Magnetic Coral, Purple Obsession & Pepsy Coral}

Hello loves!

I know we all love our high end & luxury brands but the drug stores really do hold some hidden gems. My newest and most recent discovery being the Loreal Infalliable 24 hr shadows. I know these have been around for a while but Loreal as a brand was never on my radar as I never really saw anything I was interested in. These were on clearance and I was looking for some new things to try so I picked up four of them!

Endless Chocolat - A gorgeous chocolate brown with gold glitter reflect. You can't see the glitter in the swatch but when applied on the eyes it' stunning. I love this color albeit being a tad bit hard to blend out.

Magnetic Coral - A beautiful light coral shade that is gorgeous all over the lid.

Purple Obsession - This isn't a shade of purple I would normally go for but as an impulsive buyer of course I had to get it. Extremely pigmented and blends easily. I love doing a purple eye with this smoked out in the outer corner.

Pepsy Coral - When looking at Pepsy Coral and Magnetic Coral in the containers they look almost identical in color but as you can see in the swatches Pepsy Coral is much darker.

Loreal's Infalliable shadows are incredibly pigmented and three out of the four that I own blended well. Endless Chocolat took a bit of extra effort but it's a darker shade as well so build it slowly.
I'm definitely interested in picking up more of these as I was pleasantly surprised because most of the Loreal products I've tried thus far haven't impressed me.

What Infalliable shade is your favorite?

NOTD - Essie Blanc & Sephora Party Animal

Hello loves!

Oh, white nail polish you are the most unforgiving of colors when it comes to rushed application.
Using Essie's Blanc as a base I wanted to try out my Sephora glitter polish in the shade "Party Animal." Tis the season for festive glitter right?
As you can see in the photo (only a couple hours later) the accent nail is already smudged. You guys already know how I feel about Essie polishes so I won't go into much detail about that.
Party Animal has various chunks of glitter suspended throughout it and when applying the glitter is so sporadically spread out on the nail that even with multiple coats I found it extremely difficult to get an even finish. There's a reason I prefer solid colors as I find them easier to work with and less of a pain to remove.

Do you prefer glitter or solid colors?

*Megaphone Mascara?

Hello loves!

I was sent a new and innovative mascara to review courtesy of Influenster & Almay.
I've always been aware of Almay as a drugstore brand but until this point, had never tried any of their products. I had no idea what to expect in terms of quality. Almay isn't a highly talked about brand.
When I opened the package, I was really intrigued by the megaphone brush as I don't think I've ever seen another mascara with a brush like this.

Mascara is one of my favorite makeup products and I have tried a million at this point so I was excited to give this a shot. Unfortunately the excitement didn't last long. The marketing for this is too true, what I mean by that is that on the package itself it says "One Coat MEGA VOLUME". It does create voluminous lashes but you truly cannot apply more than one coat on the lashes without it looking like a clumped disaster. The formula is wet and a ton of product comes out on the brush so you have to be incredibly careful and make sure that you wipe of all the excess product or you'll have goopy eye lashes with mascara smeared all over your lid. For my first venture with Almay as a brand I'm disappointed. I had high hopes but the brand itself has never jumped out at me and this really didn't wow like I wanted it to.

Have you tried Almay, any recommendations?

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

Good morning loves.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
Who doesn't love having multi purpose products around? They're great for traveling as they really help to cut down your bag clutter.
The Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch highlighting concealer is just that, a concealer that not only covers but illuminates leaving a highlighted finish on the skin.

I've never tried a concealer with this packaging and this will be the last one I do try. When you first try to use it you need to twist it about ten times to no avail and then a giant glob of product squeezes out. It's a complete waste as there is no way I'm able to use that much on my face at one time without looking like a makeup mess leading to huge amounts of wasted product.
This is a medium coverage finish and I found when I tried to build it up it creased quite quickly nor was it opaque enough to cover my pesky under eye circles.
I wouldn't advise using this as an under eye concealer unless you have mild dark circles and are looking more to just highlight the under eye instead of coverage.
For the rest of the face though this is a great concealer that does help brighten the complexion.
Even though I have mixed feelings about it I'm going to keep using it as it works well on the rest of my face and blends out easily.

Do you prefer a matte concealer or a highlighting concealer?

MAC Chili

Hello loves.

Does anyone else own a lipstick they have a serious love/hate relationship with?
I do and that lipstick for me is MAC's Chili {matte}. It's a stunning deep brick red. I've talked about it briefly in my MAC lipstick collection post. The color is perfect for Fall but the downfall is that being a brick red it has yellow/brown undertones. If like me, you don't possess a pearly white smile it can cause your teeth to look worse than they actually are. Even though it looks great on when I have my mouth closed I must say while wearing it throughout my day I feel extremely self conscious about how it makes my teeth and overall smile appear. Albeit a beautiful color, brick reds aren't for me. No one wants to walk around all day scared to smile at people for fear of their yellow teeth, makeup is supposed to build confidence not tear it down. I wish I had those perfect pearly teeth but unfortunately that's not the case and there are so many blue toned reds that are just as gorgeous but give the appearance of a whiter smile.

What lipstick do you have a love/hate relationship with?

e.l.f mineral infused primer

Hello loves!

E.l.f is a great affordable brand with amazing products! Searching for these hits however can be a daunting task.

I've yet to find a primer that really wows me and I'm starting to wonder if I ever will. For me I've never used a primer that has actually seemed to do anything it promises. Even though I'm beginning to doubt that primers are even necessary, I'm still trying them in hopes that one day I will find one that creates that flawless base for makeup application.

The elf mineral infused primer comes in a variety of different formulas. I picked up the clear one  as I wasn't really looking for anything in regards to special skin concerns. It's a silicone based primer so when applying it it feels very greasy on the skin but dries down quickly.
I absolutely hate saying this but I didn't notice any difference in the way my base applied or how long my makeup lasted. Overall I feel like this did nothing. I feel like I was just adding another layer of product on my skin that I didn't need.

Elf, you are a great brand but I was so disappointed in this primer. Especially after reading rave reviews about it.

What primer would you recommend?

A/W - Top 5 Lipsticks

Hello loves!

I adore fall and winter. The season where dark vampy lips are always an acceptable choice.
Of course looking at the above photos it's obvious I'm all about my reds opposed to the ever popular berry shades.

These are my most worn lipsticks this time of year although it doesn't really look like it, I promise you they are. I just own a ridiculous amount of lip products.

Three of them happen to be from the Rimmel Kate Moss range of lipsticks, two of which are in the matte formula.

{left to right: Kate Moss Shade 10, Kate Moss Matte 107, Kate Moss Matte 111, MAC Russian Red, Lancome Red Stiletto}

Kate Moss Shade 10 -  A perfect red. While not completely matte I wouldn't say it's creamy either. I'd call this more of a semi matte finish. I've been wearing this one quite a lot in the past couple of weeks. The great thing about the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks is how extremely affordable they are, retailing at about $6.99 CAD.

107 - If you haven't seen this particular color splashed across various beauty blogs, where have you been? Of course once I saw Zoella in this I had to have it, I adore her! 107 is a stunning dark berry color that is perfect for the fall.

111 - Okay, I know this looks almost identical to shade 10 but this formula is matte and quite honestly I really don't need both but I love them both and will continue to use each of them.

MAC Russian Red - I've talked about this particular lipstick more than enough on my blog. I love it, it's by far one of my favorites in my collection.

Lancome Red Stiletto - This is the creamiest one in the bunch and again is just that perfect holiday red. I'll be honest and say this is the bottom of my top 5 mostly because I prefer a matte finish.

What's your favorite color to sport during Fall and Winter?

MAC MSF

Oh hello loves!

MAC, the brand that seems to have taken a back seat over the years. I remember everyone was all about the MAC products and there were people who would verbally attack you god forbid you said anything poor about them.

I do think that now there are so many other amazing brands out there pumping out wonderfully innovative products at cheaper or similar price points as MAC which is why I believe  they're not as popular as they once were.

For me, I still adore the MAC lipsticks and their MSF natural powder in Light Plus. Anyone with dry skin knows that powders can be a scary game.
This is the only powder I've tried thus far that doesn't cake or cling to those pesky dry patches. I use it as a setting powder just lightly dusted over my foundation and no matter what foundation I'm using at the time I've never had any issues. The best part it doesn't dry my skin out at all which is something I've never found in any other powder.

I'm still open to trying other powders but for now I must say MAC you have truly wowed me with this.

What do you use to set your foundation?

Garnier Clearly Brighter Moisturizer

Hello loves!

I'm always on the hunt for that holy grail moisturizer and unfortunately have yet to find it.
The Garnier Skin Active Clearly Brighter SPF 15 Daily Moisturizer while not a bad product at all fell short in terms of what I needed.
It has an antioxidant complex of vitamin E & C which is used to help make the skin look more even toned and radiant.
With winter well on it's way I need a much heavier formula as I found this to be a little lightweight for my parched skin. It worked well during the last of the summer months but again I wish it had a higher SPF. I believe you can buy this same moisturizer with SPF 30 which I just found out while looking at the Garnier website.
In terms of my skin, I didn't notice a difference in the tone but it did give it a little bit of extra needed hydration. If you are sensitive to scents I would steer clear of this as it is heavily scented. I love the scent it smells like citrus and the smell alone helps to wake you up in the morning!
While not the holy grail I've been searching for I would pick it up again during summer as it was by no means a bad product.

What's your go to moisturizer for Winter?

LUSH - Blackberry

Hey lovelies.

I know, I've been on kind of a posting hiatus lately and for that I apologize.
I wanted to pop in and write a quick little post about the Lush bath bomb in "Blackberry."

It's a fairly simple bomb and one that I wasn't too impressed with. Maybe because the other Lush bath bombs I've tried had much more to offer in terms of excitement.
Blackberry fizzes away quickly leaving you enveloped in a sea of purple water. I found the smell to be really subtle in comparison to the rest of their range and to be honest I didn't find it to smell like berries at all. The smell of this left me feeling a bit sickly if  I'm honest. There was no exciting surprises inside like so many others. The only thing that popped in the bath was a tiny bit of paper with the word "BOOM!" on it, whilst a cute touch, I wanted more.

Sadly, I was left disappointed. I expected more from Lush.

What do you recommend from Lush?

Rimmel - Wake Me Up Foundation

 Hello loves!

The weather here in Alberta is getting colder by the day and I'm so unprepared for winter. On the other hand fall/winter makeup is my favorite. Bring on the berry shades, dark red lips and bronzed eyes.

I ran out of foundation and bought an oldie that I've tried before. Round two however didn't give me the same results I remembered. The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is a medium coverage dewy finish foundation that is meant to make you look more awake. Enriched with vitamin c and "radiance pearls"  it's supposed to erase dullness and even out the skin tone erasing signs of fatigue.
The first time I used this I loved it. It's affordable and I remember thinking it made my skin look beautiful. Back when I first used this I'd only just been getting into the world of base products not really knowing what a good foundation was, now that I know more I'm not so impressed.

This foundation has shimmer in it. I like a dewy finish but that doesn't mean I want my face looking like a disco ball. It doesn't come across that way in the hand swatch but in the daylight you can certainly see the shimmer shining through on your face, it almost creates a greasy look to the skin. As it wears throughout the day it does oxidize, not terribly but enough to notice and this was something I noticed with the lightest shade in the range (100 - Ivory). Not only does it get darker with wear but it breaks up and even completely disappeared in spots on my face. By the end of the day my face looked like a patchy disaster. I wish I'd loved this as much as I did the first time I used it but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I might give the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer another chance too to see if my opinion on it has changed as well. I wrote a review on the concealer three years back and I loved it just like I loved the foundation.

What 's your go to foundation?
